Samsung UN55H6203AFXZA scorched part on PS board.

Hi guys, I picked up this tv today and the owner said the tv had sound but no picture. Upon getting home I immediately proceeded to open up the back without plugging the tv in to see what it does and I found the PS has a pretty big part that is scorched and underneath (bottom of PS) is what I wanna say is a voltage regulator? Don't really know... but anyway what do you guys think happened to it and can I take another one of those from another PS and pop it in or do I buy a replacement from digikey?

Also wanna mention that the PS has a bunch of questionable/ suspect solder joints...

That is PWM Controlled power MOSFET and the LED backlights return line for the LED string. You may have some shorted out LEDs so the MOSFET runs hot.

Hey budm thanks for your reply, as far as an LED tester unfortunately I don't have one. Is my next step taking the TV apart and get to the LED's?

Taking apart the 55" panel is the last thing you will want to do.
It is better in invest on a LED tester to at least test the LED string to see what result you will see.
Can you still read the P/N as printed on that MOSFET?

You may have to get it from EBAY since it is obsoleted part.

Hey Budm... So I finally got the LED tester and I gave it a shot! Turns out the very top strip was shorted and on my weak ass attempt on getting down to the LED strips so that I could get a part number and order them I accidently cracked the damn panel on one of the bottom corners! I felt so damn bad... still do. Dammit!

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                      by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

                      Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

                      Anybody...

Samsung UN65KU6290F PS board blows fuses

Samsung UN65KU6290F (May 2017); received from local Buy Nothing group. Was listed as "just went dead" and they wanted it gone. I brought it home, didn't notice anything visually wrong with the power supply board, looked up the cost of a new one and that's about as far as it went. Family was tired of tripping on the foot of the set so I decided to dig in and repair or toss.

Can't believe that I didn't check it earlier but I found the main 8 amp fuse blown. Jumped across it with a 10 amp blade style fuse and you can see that it literally exploded inside the second I plugged...
