Re: Samsung UN55H6203AFXZA scorched part on PS board.
Hey Budm... So I finally got the LED tester and I gave it a shot! Turns out the very top strip was shorted and on my weak ass attempt on getting down to the LED strips so that I could get a part number and order them I accidently cracked the damn panel on one of the bottom corners! I felt so damn bad... still do. Dammit!

Samsung UN55H6203AFXZA scorched part on PS board.
Hi guys, I picked up this tv today and the owner said the tv had sound but no picture. Upon getting home I immediately proceeded to open up the back without plugging the tv in to see what it does and I found the PS has a pretty big part that is scorched and underneath (bottom of PS) is what I wanna say is a voltage regulator? Don't really know... but anyway what do you guys think happened to it and can I take another one of those from another PS and pop it in or do I buy a replacement from digikey?...

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Ok so let's say I maybe wanna get into deep s#!% here and want to try to add the switching circuit mentioned earlier, how would I do it?

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Not extremely noisy, but you can definitely hear it... kinda sounds like a small hair dryer. Crazy thought but might the mainboard have a switching pin I can connect to?

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Well when I had it connected to the USB port it was working, doesn't the port only supply 5V? The fan did sound less noisy when it was connected to the USB port...

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Yeah guys this is starting to sound complicated... not sure I wanna continue. Can I just possibly wire it to the 5V pin and just live with it being on 24/7?

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Thank you for your reply RJ, I used the 3rd pin from the bottom of the right side. Do you think I should try the +12V_a on the left side?

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Thanks for your reply budm, but I connected the fan to the +12V on that connector that you suggested and the fan still turns on even though the tv is off... what did I do wrong?

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Budm I'm sorry for my ignorance, but the +12V you want me to wire it to is at the connection on the top left with the empty spaces correct?...

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Thanks for replying budm... yes I did and it did spin, however I went on and rigged the red and black wires to a USB cable and have it connected to the USB port on the TV. Do you think that will be ok?...

M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Hi guys, I have a 12V .2A cooling fan that I removed from a computer and I want to add it to this tv whose mainboard was not working as the BGA chip under the heat sink was not making contact anymore. Do I need the fan pulling in air to the heat sink or pushing air out? Should I install it directly to the heat sink or on the back cover of tv? Then finally the fan has three wires how and where do I connect them? I appreciate you guys helping me....

Toshiba Regza 42HL196 Darker center w/ lines
Hello guys I have a Toshiba REGZA 42HL196 that had the 3 blinking lights and wouldn't turn on. I bought a repair kit from eBay and the tv starts up now but slowly it has developed some horizontal lines and a darker center that used to go away at the beginning after a while but now it does not go away. Any thoughts as to what it can be? I currently do not have a multimeter....
