    70" Sharp LED... LC-70C6500U Great Display Upside Down

    I just got in a Sharp 70" 70C6500U that's just BEGGING to adorn my wall at home..

    But it's got a panel problem.. See pics

    When it is upside down, the picture is perfect.. But right side up you see the distortion on the lower part of the screen more pronounced on the left side of the screen...

    If I gently tweak the screen one way or another it sometimes gets a good display but then when I let it go, the distortion comes back.

    I have tried cleaning the LVDS connectors and LVDS cables... No luck..

    I seem to recall that on these large panels if you pull the side tabs on the side that's bad, it sometimes fixes it...

    It's a hail mary, but I was just wondering if there is another course of action besides this irreversible one of pulling the tabs..

      I think I got it..

      Apparently there is an LVDS/TCON type arrangement on the side of the unit as well..

      I disconnected the lower LVDS connector (red) which gave me the distorted part of the panel right aways.

      I cleaned the LVDS cable and connector, re-attached it and the panel seems to be distortion free...

      Just FYI for anyone else who runs into this issue..

          You surely centered the target, but maybe that connector suffer from a slight factory problem, it's better to put a shim on it before closing the bezel..

              Precisely. A thin piece of plastic under the latch to make it tighter. It's what I sometimes do on dodgy connectors.

                      Hello all... TV started boot looping. Opened the back panel and tried to isolate the problem. Just PSB no boot loop. PSB and MB no boot loop. Plug in the LVDS from panel to MB and boot looping starts up. It doesnt matter of order that I plug the LVDS ribbons back in, only 1 and no boot loop but as soon as 2nd one plugs in boot looping.                       I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked.                       Hello , for some time I was studying Quanta U9x/8x schematics and the option to use both type of screen (LVDS 40 pin / eDP 30 pin).
                      In some cases to use LVDS screen PCB use converter IC RTD2132/6
                      Now I found an HP 15 F series U99 mainboard with RTD chip not populated and LVDS 40 pin lcd touch screen
                      at the same time I have another HP 15 N series with Quanta U92 mainboard and RTD2136 with eDP 30 pin lcd screen (no touch).
                      Maybe someone more experienced in the subject can clarify if is posible to change type of screen used with some resistors / bios options change.

                      I have a LC-80LE661U that had some interesting issues.
                      Initially, it would come on and show the sharp logo and would show normal static before shutting off.

                      I started troubleshooting by disconnecting the led lighting strips and turning it on. It would do the same thing - come on, show the sharp logo and shut off. After reading, it was suggested to replace the main board. That was replaced and the same symptoms resulted. After this and some reading, the parts cannon got loaded up. I replaced the power board, same issue. Replaced the Tcon board and now it...

                      Hello, I'm new to this forum. I like to tinker with Sony electronics, I have been lucky trouble shooting sony stuff, But I can't find much info on this Sharp TV.

                      The problem; plug to power>white led power indicator light is on>it turns on to the red Sharp logo>
                      then the android logo is displayed, lit fine then the android logo brightness varies, then lit normal, then the tv restarts and does the same startup logos over and over for 5 times then it turns off and the power indicator light flashes the trouble code 3 long blinks plus 3 short blinks .
