    Lg42lh30 power supply

    Hey Guys-
I have this on my bench right now. I'm looking at the power supply board and there is a diode that popped on it. It's D601 on the board. It's mounted to a heat sink. Unfortunately, when it blew, it knocked the marking off of it. Anybody out there know what the p/n is? or maybe the characteristics of the diode? It's board # EAX55357705/4

LG EAY57681305 Power Supply / Backlight Inverter

I do not have the P/N but that is PFC diode, Anode is on the right pin, it is non Isolated tab to-220 casing.
You need to check the two PFC MOSFET's mounted on the same heatsink, also check fuse F501 too. Is the main AC fuse still good?

I don't have the exact board but a similar board uses a FSU10B60

I would go with at least 800V rating.

WOW! Thanks for the quick replies guys! I really appreciate it. Yes, the fuse was blown out. I had a 1000V volt TO-220 to try but I'm glad I didn't. The switching time on the one I have is 25µs not 40ns. That would have been a problem. I'm gonna rummage around my spare parts and see what I can come up with.
          Thanks Again Guys!

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Mitsubishi CNC switching power supply board dead / relay board bad diode failure
            by sam_sam_sam
I was working on this CNC machine today found no keyboard functioning no control relay powering on
The screen powered on and was giving an operation error but the manual was not very clear about what the error exactly was but with a little bit of troubleshooting and finding out that the control relays not powering on and no keyboard functions we narrowed down to this one switching power supply which of course does not have any indicator LED light they are on the keyboard interface/relay controller board

Found shorted diodes on main controller relays there are 3 of them that...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
            by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

            After all of...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
            by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

            Samsung Power Supply Board BN44-00874F
            by Nicktronic
            Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

            Anybody...
