Re: Lg 50ln5700 horizontal moving black line on bottom of screen
If you think this it's a not good tv to use as is then you can try this: disconnect one at a time the output flats of the tcon an see wich is the faulty side, with the flat cable of the faulty side connected and image on screen, cut a square piece of opaque tape wide as much as 5-6 rows of pixels high and place it in corrisponence of the begin of the defect and exactly at te begin of the witdth where pixels starts at the side, then switch off the tv and take a sharp cutter and with magnifying glass you have to cut exactly before the first pixels in width starts, if it is too difficult to center the blade it's better if you cut in the center of the first pixel than before its begin, don't make too much pressure, it is almost easy to cut. Unfortunately i can't do this test because i have no cracked screens at the moment with a partial image to make the test on, because the cracked screens i bought are very easy to lost the remaining image cause the cracks runs easily. This job its valid only if your screen has no side tabs. In the truth the best work to do would be to remove the glass foil and flip it because on the front side there's a polarizer film that obscures all the pixels, instad in the back side you can see even the pixels and the gate drivers circuit and where to cut better, it is useful those goggles with magnifying glass and led light that are sold on ebay/aliexpress.Last edited by Davi.p; 12-23-2018, 12:19 AM.

Yes this is typical of LG screens of today, it's normal, unfortunately in this way you can't judge which side is bad, i don't know what to do... anyway T-con not tcom..
if there are many silkscreens then post a good clear tcon picture or better link a shopjimmy one that are the best..Last edited by Davi.p; 12-23-2018, 10:23 AM.

No this is not what i call a good picture.. search its brand and model in internet with image search and post here a big clear picture..
sorry i've noticed many errors in my post #3, 1. "and" not "an", 2. "which" not "wich", 3. "width" not "witdth", "instead" not "instad"...Last edited by Davi.p; 12-23-2018, 11:05 AM.

Re: Lg 50ln5700 horizontal moving black line on bottom of screen
You might be able to fix this by placing a piece I=of stationery tape 1cm wide on the right (looking from the back) FFC going to the Panel Bd. You would have to try it several times along the width, by trial and error, of the FFC to get the correct spot. It will take some time but a little patience will get you there. This is called the 'CUT-OFF' Method.

there is "no hoping in god". All this means is the OP should focus his efforts on using the "tape cutoff" method on the connector associated with the right side of the panel. It is not a "catastrophic method" as long as they are careful with the connector so "god" won't come into play.

Yes maybe the tiny little line that is visible is the true defect, but i had in mind my technique not the tape masking technique, this last is a risky one cause switches off a big part of the screen, furthermore in my case the result is far from perfect vision, it's advantage is that in the first times after it's reversible.Last edited by Davi.p; 12-24-2018, 12:17 PM.

No matter where I place the tape couldn't get rid of the black horizontal line.
Until I watched a movie, the movie had black borders on top and bottom.
It looks perfect with the top n bottom black borders. Just gonna give this tv to my parents their Comcast cable box has the up down black borders on every channel. You live and you learn right?
