Re: Sony KDL-55EX620, no stand-by volts from one bad resistor?

Right now we need to find out why AC_OFF_DET line goes to <1V when main board is connected and need to verify the stby3.3v pin with main board connected is at 3.3V or not, if 3.3V is much higer than 3.3V that can be problem.

NJM2884-33 is 3.3V (Vo of +/-1% ) LDO regulator, so are you sure your are getting 3.3V at the STBY3.3V pin of the power supply connector when main board is connected, or you are getting close to 4V or higher?

    Ah found your post #24:
"There was 4.45V at the stand-by pin of CN6001 that became slightly unstable but returned to 4.45V and remained". So that NJM2884 is bad.
Long thread is hard to keep track of the Data.

When I measure between pins 7 and 9 on CN6101 I get 3.48V with CN6101 attached to the PSU and the main board installed

This was with CN6101 unhooked from the PSU EDIT and reference chassis ground

          Njm2884.
On page 9 graph it shows example of the 3V version with Zero Io mA and it still maintains 3V output, so at this point I would change out that 3.3V regulator.

Thank you budm, I will order that today and get it coming, and thank you so very, very much for hanging in there and for helping me out.

R_J: Thank you very much for all the help and direction throughout this process and for hanging in there.

Again I apologize for my causing this whole thing to drag out. I sincerely appreciate both of you.

So a couple days ago NJM2884 arrived here from the parts store. I plan to install it today and hopefully we can get some magic to happen!

NJM2884 installed, 3.25 to 3.28V is present regardless of whether or not CN6101 is plugged or unplugged. There is still no stand-by light.

At this time I think I am going to start a new thread on this same TV. Reason being is I made such a mess out of this thread I think it would avoid a lot of back tracking and confusion moving forward.

Replacing resistor fuse in Sony DV charger
                  by corrize
Hello, I have 2 old chargers for Sony DV, and I found the same resistor fuse dead. Fuse is a crossing component : 0,47 Ohms (0,125W deduced because the lenght is 3mm). But I can’t find the same for buy.
So, I want to replace by another like 0 Ohms, 1 Ohms 0,125W,

It is the same please ? I guess it’s the same, the only change should be the time to burn ? Thanks...

I just picked up this tv yesterday and the previous owner said while watching tv he heard a loud a pop and then the screen went dark. I removed the back cover and found the source rather quickly; resistor R8601. A chunk of the ceramic had blown off exposing the inner wire. Due to the damage I cannot make out the colors of a couple bands. I likewise cannot find a datasheet for the power supply. I tried pulling up pictures of the same board online but the resistors have different colored bands which I half expected as I've had this happen before.

                  The power supply is 715G8413-P01-001-0H2S...

I have got a Sony HCD-BX7700dbi that isn't worth a lot but I'm keen to learn how to repair and would appreciate some help with my train of thought. The protection circuit is kicking in and the standby light is blinking. It goes into protection mode within a second of powering it on.

So far the relay on the power board that enables the main transformer clicks on and then off when powering on the unit. Looking at the schematics, the permanently enabled power rail called 'unreg sub' provides about 13.5VDC. Where the power comes into the main board on connector CN303, there is a diode...

                  Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

                  1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
                  2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
                  3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
                  4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...

                  by androripara
                  Hello everyone,
i am trying to repair a Sony KDL-55HX820 led TV which is throwing error code 4 (standby led flashing four times).

I followed the troubleshooting flowchart at page 69, and between pin1 and pin7 of CN6002 i am reading 1.91V so i guess i can rule out the B Board as the culprit.
Before ordering new G* Boards (by the way, should i change both? it is not specified in the manual) i wanted to try and do more advanced troubleshooting since i've read in other threads people resolving their problems on the 46/55 HX 820/823/825 models by replacing the Samsung led...
