If you look at the datasheet you will see the circuit, it is likely that the ic has been damaged, like I said, check the gate resistors and diodes to start.

I have no continuity on the following:

      R8602
      R8603
      R8604
      R8614
      R8617
      ZD8601

Is it possible that one bad one can take out the rest? Or does this indicate that the spike went all the way through to the chip?

Maybe check those in ohm mode and compare to expected values.

I just checked and they all are close with the exception of R8603 and R8604. They are 1504 resistors which are 1.5M Ohm, and I'm getting .995-1.005M Ohm on them.

They do seem to be out of tolerance.

I thought the same, they're about 2/3 of the expected value. I'm leery to say that they are the cause however.

I don't know but have seen strange things from even slightly out of spec resistors, seems like they have been making the tvs too sensitive, is it the feedback section. I think sony is one of the biggest offenders of that.

I don't know if it's the designers that are not totally competent or they are trying their hardest to make the tvs go to shit just out of warranty. I know one thing if a tv goes out on me right after warranty, I'm definitely not going right back to the same brand.

Still haven't figured this out, but I haven't really messed with it anymore either. I'm thinking about ordering that board for $30 and HOPEFULLY get it working. At the start of this I checked the backlights with my tester and they lit. Hopefully they haven't gotten damaged since, somehow.

I see, 30 bux isn't bad for a 50 inch sony, they do have a nice picture imo.

I'm going to sell it if I get it going. I'm a little reluctant to buy the board though 😩

So you like the picture on them, but you just don't want them anymore? šŸ˜

So I have an update to share. I bought that board from eBay and the TV is alive again! However there is a caveat: a mystical black line that appears and disappears. It seems related to the OSD as well because the 4K X Reality bar across the bottom pops up randomly and brings the line with it.. When that banner goes away the line goes away too. I don't have a remote for it so I can't get into settings to play with anything. It's acting like it's in demo mode or something because it fades in a banner at the top as well that does the available streaming apps. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue, seems like it's not because the line comes and goes with those banners.

Nevermind, I'm an idiot! It IS in demo mode. The line is there to show two have of the image, one with a feature ON and the other half with it OFF.

I guess I need to get a remote then so I can get it out of demo mode.

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on
                                by PopsCaps
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

                                Hello,
i have this sony bravia kdl-43w755c which boot loops. After sony logo, it shows the android animation loading then it restarts…
from what i read online it looks to be an emmc issue…
i’m not familiar with this kind of tv repairs… i’m repairing laptops and gpu’s…
i took out the board and say an samsung 16gb emmc
                                i don’t have an exact replacement, but i have a few 32 and 64gb emms’s from laptops…
i could try to put one instead of the 16gb one, but will it work?
where do i get the software from?
any help will be much appreciated!...

Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu
                                by mikey5791
                                Hi to all forum members,

Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...
