    LG 65lb5200 screen solarization

    Hi,

I just replaced the main board after reading up on how to fix a “power on but no screen issue.” Now the tv and screen turn on but the screen is very solarized. From what I read since both the screen and the settings menu both solarize that points to the tcon board or the screen itself.

Before I replace the tcon, is it possible the new problem is still with main board?

I'm going to try the bake trick on my old main board and see if it work.

    Thanks!

Is the Main Bd an exact replacement i.e. The same No. from the white label etc? Sometimes you can go into the OPTION BYTE menu and switch the screen options for the TV to show again. It may not necessarily mean a bad T-CON Bd.

The board could come from a different equipement tv, ie a different screen, it means probably a different size of screen then you have to upgrade the SW for the right model then enter service menu and do a reset. bye.

Thanks! Any suggestions on how to enter the service menu on this model? All the LG instructions I am finding are not working.

        Thanks again,

You need a service remote control to access it. You can get it on ebay for like 15-20 $

You can also do the reset usually by shorting pin 5,6 of the settings eeprom then putting the power cord and then release. The correct eeprom is the bigger one 8pin.

Got the service remote for this tv. When I press instart. Nothing happens. I don’t think I’m skilled enough for shorting the pin instructions. Thanks! Frustrated but having fun!

Press the adj button and then change the model from there

Nope adj button doesn’t work either. Standard button work, just not the service remote buttons. I have a mkj39170828 factory sac remocon remote.

Try in stop and then adj?

The instruction on how to use a service remote is on every service manual..

Good advice on the service manual. Didn’t even need a service remote. Input 3195 gets you in the factory menu. Thanks!
