Hi All! This my first posting. I have a dead Sharp AQUOS tv model LC-60LE633U. I get 2 long flashes followed by 5 short rapid flashes on the front power light. I checked power supply voltages for those I could access and saw the 12 volt dc supply measured 7.35 volts instead of 12vdc. I isolated the 12vdc supply pin from where it went to Main Logic board. The voltage was still 7.35vdc so I don't think Main board is draining missing voltage. I traced the 12vdc power from a Low Voltage Dropout Regulator (LVDR). I plan to replace the LVDR and go from there. The power supply initially supplies voltages but they all drop back to 0 after 5 short rapid flashes start. Has anyone seen this issue with this model Sharp tv? Thanks for any advice for further checking.

Have you tried disconecting the t-con board? 2 long, 5 short blinks can be t-con or panel problem. You can also do a model search as there are a few similar threadsLast edited by R_J; 06-09-2018, 10:48 PM. -

R_J, thanks for the suggestion. I have not disconnected the t-con board. Do I disconnect the ribbon cables or just the two small wiring cables coming from the Main Logic board? I will disconnect the t-con board when I hear back from you. Thanks again!!Comment

Budm, you are spot on. The device is a LDO with 4 leads. Lead 1 voltage in, lead 2 voltage out, lead 3 Gnd, and lead 4 Control. I have the 13 volt input but not the correct output. I also read 2.72vdc on control lead. Your LC/LED Primer on these tv power supplies is outstanding. Where would I read the 24vdc on the power supply connector going to the Main Logic board? When I replace the LDO, this may cure the problem...I'll let you know. Thanks for the guidance.Comment

If the ldvr has been a problem as budm suggests, replace it first, If there is still an issue, I would disconect the wire cables first, if that allows the voltage to stay up, then reconnect them and disconnect the flat ribbons going to the panel.

R_J, thanks for the suggestion. I will replace LDO and then check operation. Any idea on how much thermal grease/paste to use between heat sink and LDO device? I understand grease or paste is not so much for insulation but to eliminate air spaces that would decrease efficiency of heat dissipation...is this correct? ThanksComment

You need a minimal amount, it is there to help heat tranfer to the heatsink, any extra will only just squeeze outComment

Before you go to far, you need to follow the suggestion about disconnecting the cables as there may be loading "downstream" that is causing "poor voltage" and thus replacing the regulator will solve nothing.Comment

I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display... -
Hello, I'm new to this forum. I like to tinker with Sony electronics, I have been lucky trouble shooting sony stuff, But I can't find much info on this Sharp TV.
The problem; plug to power>white led power indicator light is on>it turns on to the red Sharp logo>
then the android logo is displayed, lit fine then the android logo brightness varies, then lit normal, then the tv restarts and does the same startup logos over and over for 5 times then it turns off and the power indicator light flashes the trouble code 3 long blinks plus 3 short blinks .

hi, I have a sharp tv model LC-40LE814E with DPS-126CP-1 A power supply.
the tv initially turned on, displayed the image for 10 seconds and then turned off. so in a loop until the power was cut off.
reading the classic optocoupler problem I changed the mounted cosmos with SHARP PC817 recovered from other boards.
now the TV turns on for 1-2 seconds and turns off giving 2 flashes in the front LED.
to avoid banging too much I preferred to take an identical tested and working card (or so the supplier says)

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp... -

I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.
Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.
- I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
- I did a factory reset as well...
