Re: Sharp LC 60LE655U 2 long flashes + 2 short flashes

    Thanks attainteddragon and R_J.

The diode tested fine after I lifted one leg. It was indeed a IN4148.

I still think the problem is in that general area of the board. The opto PC7904 has 0.6V on its diode side which means a very small current is flowing through it.
If the opto diode current increases,
--> the transistor side of the opto would see a drop in resistance,
--> the Q7902 transistor would turn on
    --> Vcc would reach IC7601
and thus the UR13.2 voltage would rise to its expected level.

To test, I momentarily shunted the opto transistor with a 11k resistor and got a voltage on UR13.2 ( I have 11 test LEDs in series on the UR pin that lit up)

Does this analysis make sense? What can I test next?

Ok, by doing this test, check the voltage on ic7601 vcc, also check the pfc voltage on the large caps, is it at around 400v and stable?
Also check the three led+ voltages, are they ok?
Then shut it down and make sure none of the ic's etc are getting abnormally hot.
You could have a bad optcoupler?
      Check the voltages on Q7305

Re: Sharp LC 60LE655U 2 long flashes + 2 short flashes

R_J, sorry for the delay. I've been looking at this closely.

Here's my theory on what is happening:-
        1. When PS_ON is supplied, UR is rising to above 14.4 V momentarily which is above the 13.2 V expected for UR.
        2. Due to this voltage, the gate voltage on SCR Q7305 is high enough to turn the SCR on and it latches ON. This diverts current away from the opto PC7904 and acts as protection circuit.

So the crux of the problem is that UR is getting a higher voltage than expected. This points to higher voltage or switching frequency on the primary of the main transformer T7601. I still need to dig deeper to figure out what controls the transformer input.

I like this theory because it is more likely that the lightning power surge damaged something on the PRIMARY (hot) side.

        ----
When I tried the test of shunting the output of PC7904, the transformer created a loud hum which seemed abnormal so I didn't keep the shunt in place to avoid damage. I couldn't make the voltage measurements you requested.

Does anyone know anything about an IC labelled S101 241A ?
It is part of the AC-DET circuit on the hot side of the board.
I could not find any info on it at all.

Attaching a picture of the label in case I'm reading it wrong.

It may be an S101 (IN1S101-T6G) Brown out Supervisor IC for Delta Power Supplies

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I like to tinker with Sony electronics, I have been lucky trouble shooting sony stuff, But I can't find much info on this Sharp TV.

The problem; plug to power>white led power indicator light is on>it turns on to the red Sharp logo>
then the android logo is displayed, lit fine then the android logo brightness varies, then lit normal, then the tv restarts and does the same startup logos over and over for 5 times then it turns off and the power indicator light flashes the trouble code 3 long blinks plus 3 short blinks .

              does...

Sharp 80” long short flash backlight error - Help
              by Superbee_dad
              Hello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

SHARP LC-40LE814E does not turn on 2 flashes
              by Egidio85
hi, I have a sharp tv model LC-40LE814E with DPS-126CP-1 A power supply.

the tv initially turned on, displayed the image for 10 seconds and then turned off. so in a loop until the power was cut off.

reading the classic optocoupler problem I changed the mounted cosmos with SHARP PC817 recovered from other boards.

now the TV turns on for 1-2 seconds and turns off giving 2 flashes in the front LED.

to avoid banging too much I preferred to take an identical tested and working card (or so the supplier says)

Sharp LC-55N7000U 1 long 5 short blinking, no display
              by cm0002
              Hi everyone,

I've got a Sharp LC-55N7000U. It has a standbuy LED when plugged in, but powering it on causes it to blink 1 LONG and 5 FAST. Theres no display and no backlight.

Nothing I checked has that blink pattern for Sharp TVs and there's only one multi-button on the TV itself so that service menu trick involving the input button doesn't work either. Its a post-Hisense buyout TV so that probably makes sense lol

I've tried disconnecting the panel sides from the TCON alternating sides, but no change in behaviour even when the whole TCON is disconnected,...

              Sharp Lc-70le734u blinking 2 long 5 short
              by Charrlie
Just picked up this sharp tv not too long ago and it started not wanting to start the other day, giving me the notorious 2 long-5 short blink pattern indicating a power issue. I was able to force start it a handful of times (once the tv has fired up it has no issue running for 5+ hours). But now as of yesterday, no matter what I try to do button combination wise, I just receive the same blinking code.

So I busted into it and have done the following:

-Removed the power board and inspected for any bad caps, burn spots etc. Do not see any instances of such ...
