By this, do you mean you unplugged powersupply from mainboard?

I got the voltages from the main board being plugged into PSU but after I got readings I then disconnected mainboard after just to see if backlight came on.

Thats a tough one, very strange that there are no legends.

With a legend its not to hard to figure out how to jumper the powersupply to try to turn on backlights, I have no clue without a legend tho, might need a schematic.

Guess its also possible that the backlights shoud have come on with mainboard unplugged but something else is wrong.

Can I see the pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards?
I also need the pictures of the TV model number sticker to see if it has chassis number printed on the sticker or not
                    Chassis LA14?

OK, the chassis is GLP26, so will have to search ELEKTROTANYA to see if they have service info there or not.

Also found a schematic for the TNPA5361 board. Note that on the OP's voltage readings, there is 3.1V on the INV_SOS pin. The signal comes from the driver IC's "fail" pin.

Ok that's interesting so does that mean that the fault is with the IC or does inv mean inverter circuit? Is so how would I go about troubleshooting this? Thanks for replying

Re: Panasonic TX-L32U3B will not power up

This is from another Panasonic set. The component numbers are probably different, but it gives you an idea of how Panasonic uses the "INV_SOS" signal:

"The INV_ON/OFF command (high) of the MPU, IC8001 of the A board,
enters the P-Board to turn on the inverter circuit. The inverter circuit
produces AC voltages that power the backlight fluorescent lamps . The
output of the inverter, approximately 2Kvp-p is provided to the LCD panel
                                via the connectors P5, P6, P7 and P8.

To avoid catastrophic failures, when the inverter circuit is defective, the
INV_SOS command is output to IC8001 to trigger the shutdown of the TV."

The INV_SOS signal is coming from the inverter driver IC, so I would say that you have a problem with the inverter or lamps.
I'm trying to locate a datasheet for the IC.

Thanks nomoresonys. I couldn't find a datasheet on the BD9247F. I did look at similar chips from the same chip maker, and it appears that they don't follow a consistent pattern with the "fail" pin. On a BD9240, a low signal on fail is an error. On the BD9244, a low signal is normal. So, not sure if low or high indicates an error with this BD9247F.

Read the linked thread. He also had a high signal on the INV_SOS. He did a reset to resolve it:

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

                                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                                          by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

                                          Panasonic TX-50EX700B Won't Power On

Hi. I have a Panasonic TX-50EX700B which hadn't been used very often for some time. Recently it started getting used a little more often, until one day it just refused to power on with the red LED blinking 13 times. Upon researching, it turned out it apparently had something to do with the 5v power line, so I assumed it was probably the power supply.

I purchased a power supply for the TV from a seller that claims that it works fine and was just taken from a TV with a broken screen. After fitting the new power supply and trying the TV, I was greeted with the power LED being red for...
