    TPV LCD panels - LCD cell correlation

    TPV is a chinese LCD panel manufacturer, but they don't have technology to make LCD glass, T-CON, etc. They buy the panel (cell) to a real manufacturer and they just build the backlight and supporting structure.

    I've found a correlation between TPV panel name and the corresponding LCD cell that carries that panel. The last characters after the hypen are the last characters of LCD cell name. Some examples:

    TPM185B1-WX3400 -> BOE HM185WX3-400
    TPM215HW01-H1L01 -> ChiMei M215H1-P01
    TPM215HW01-HTN01 -> AUO M215HTN01.0
    TPT315B5-DXJSFE -> LG Display LC320DXJ-SFE1
    TPT315B5-J2LE2 -> Innolux V320HJ2-PE2
    TPT315B5-TU4A -> Panda LC315TU4A

    For some reason, "P" is translated to "L" in two cases.

    Sometimes it's easy to identify cell maker and model by a sticker, but it's not always available or visible. So, with a bit of practice, you can extrapolate which cell is there searching LCD cells with same size ending with those characters at Panelook. BTW, that's why Panelook doesn't list any panel from TPV.

    Thanks for this useful info. I can't work out what this one is:

    TPM270WF1LF3L02C

    Could they have changed their panel naming?

      I think that correct name is TPM270WF1-LF3L (REV 02C). Do you have a picture of the label?

      There're some Panda cells ending in LF3L02, but none of 27". Closest match is Panda LC270LF3L (1920x1080).

      But the only way to know it is to observe actual balance board/T-CON looking for manufacturer part number.

        Re: TPV LCD panels - LCD cell correlation

        Unfortunately I have no picture - I'm just going by what the service menu reported as there was no fault causing the need to open the monitor.

        The back of the monitor showed that the whole monitor was manufactured by TPV Electronics, not just the panel, so I think that they might be using a panel known only to themselves. The Panda model numbers look close enough that I think it probably is one of theirs.

        Thanks for your help.

          Sell or Shim Solar panels?
          by eccerr0r
          Well, due to my grid tie inverter not accepting high voltages, and the fact that the lions in my solar panels are 36V (72-cell) I think I need to stick with 72-cell.

          However I have a few smaller panels that are 36, 32, and two 30-cell. The 36 and 32 together run at 75% efficiency (and subtract more with additional inefficiencies) when running in parallel with the 72-cell panels. The kicker is that the two 30s... generate 0% power when connected in parallel(!)

          So now what to do with these small panels?

          I could sell them...

          Or I could shim them....

          Lithium ion cell voltage not going up after 3.8V
          by tmhobadcap
          I got a chromebook with battery problem. It was charging when plugged in. But the indicator just showed that the battery was below 10% no matter how long it was plugged in. I took the battery pack out. There are two cells in series. Each cell had a voltage of about 3.7V. I charged one of them with a lithium cell charger. I can see current going into the cell at about 500mA. After several hours, the voltage was just about 3.8V. I charged it again manually by connecting 4.2V to it from a power supply and set the maximum current to 500mA. I can see about 100mA going into the cell. But the voltage...

          Elitebook 820 G3 engineering example: CMOS settings lost despite new cell
          by i440bx
          Hey there,

          I got a HP Elitebook 820 G3 Engineering Sample Laptop and I want to use it. Besides the difficult things at the ES-BIOS I have a big problem by saving the main BIOS settings.

          The laptop does not have a big battery because it was dead, but I already plugged in a new CMOS battery.

          It takes about 5min without power and the BIOS settings are lost. Unfortunatly I dont understand why the BIOS settings are only saved with power connected and this is the reason why I registered here.

          As written above, I plugged in a new CMOS cell and checked...

          ASUS ROG Zephytus Duo 15 GX550LXS show graphic characters
          by mferna14
          Hi, today working on a ASUS ROG Zephytus Duo 15 GX550LXS. It's works & boots up fine but on the screen it shows graphic characters all over. While trouble shooting I put in a brand new screen, no difference. The characters still appeared. Then I thought a re-flow of the NVidia chip, as it was getting hot quickly & did it very carefully. But the problem still there. Where could be the problem? maybe with the Video DRAMs chip, one of them might have gone defective & should I go a step further & re-flow all of these chips. Pls. veiw the attached photos. Hoping for some help or tips....

          Laptop LCD Panel Upgrade (HP Elitebook G8 845)
          by nobbnobb1
          Hello,

          I have an HP Elitebook G8 845 with the base 14" 250 nit LCD screen which looks terrible. I believe the base unit is a B140HAN04.6 (but not 100% sure). From looking at some part interchange numbers, I believe this is the 400 nit upgraded panel which came as an option (not 100% sure...just based off an Aliexpress listing):

          B140HAN05.3 https://www.panelook.com/B140HAN05.3...iew_42334.html

          Then looking at the same family of panels, this unit appears to be a version with better specs:

          B140HAN05.9 https://www.panelook.c...
