Re: lg42le4500 screen issue
Possibly a poor connection on an led? 99% or these lg sets I see have bad leds. -
Re: lg42le4500 screen issue
This model uses edge lit technology. Doubt it's an LED issue. More or less a mainboard issue. Very common BGA separation under main processor.
Do you still have backlights when picture goes out?Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: lg42le4500 screen issue
If there is no backlights then if the TV is staying on long enough for you to go into OSD USER Menu setup and turn down the backlights level to as low as you can and then see if the backlights will stay on longer or not.Never stop learning

Re: lg42le4500 screen issue
I've fixed a few TV's in my time and knowing how old / history is also important, it kind of eliminates certain issues. For example, I have a 42" LG tv, classic black screen/no sound but! it was working fine just before the lightening storm and is about 4 years old, little internal dust. I'm reluctant to spend £50 on a working board but realistically, unless we personally gain from a repair, it's all about minimizing costs which is a shame as you gain so much knowledge working out why a circuit has failed, swapping out boards is easy but less educational.Comment

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by cloudyHi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.
Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.
It occours both on ubuntu and windows...01-01-2023, 05:12 PM -
