I wondered if there was somebody with service manuals. The original link provides a page with a forbidden message. I'm after a LG LE79 service manual. I have the 42" version, that sounds bad!, 42LE7900. I believe I have an main board issue, PS board seems to chuck out roughly what it should but there are 4 little bucks 1072 smt IC's. 3 work ok and have 0.8v on they're feedback pin, the last one is dead, no enable, no feedback, no output. A service manual would be very useful, obviously, I'm working with other LG manuals I've found. At least...

I've fixed a few TV's in my time and knowing how old / history is also important, it kind of eliminates certain issues. For example, I have a 42" LG tv, classic black screen/no sound but! it was working fine just before the lightening storm and is about 4 years old, little internal dust. I'm reluctant to spend £50 on a working board but realistically, unless we personally gain from a repair, it's all about minimizing costs which is a shame as you gain so much knowledge working out why a circuit has failed, swapping out boards is easy but less e...

Hi There!! "1st post access to the rest post" hey!, I've a background in instrument repairs having worked 20 years for the same company, until they closed shop and moved away from my area. These days I'll take on just about anything to keep my "fix the thing" addiction going. Anything is tackled from mechanical to electronics and like a lot of folks it's not about changing a board, anyone can do that, it's about working out why, reverse engineering and alas conquering the challenge placed in front of us....
