    LG 42LB5D screen

The following is the symptom my tv is showing... the bottom 1/4 of the TV flickers in and out. Occasionally it works perfect. I recently replaced the TCon because I fried the old on trying to diagnose, and the defect persists. I've checked all of the power supply outputs and all show correct voltage.

My thought is that it is either the inverter boards or the display itself. The fact that it's intermittent seems like a possible bad connection but I've checked the all and cleaned with alcohol, made no difference.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Maybe there is a sticky I can be pointed to.

Bad panel, all right. I had a Samsung that showed just like yours...

      Is it repairable/replaceable?
If so, is it worth it?

If it is a bad panel no it is not unless you have a $5,000 tab bonding machine. I suppose you can do some checks to be sure it is bad panel. You might be lucky to be able to remove a bad tab and the ones on other side will take the load but i dunno if it can be done on this tv. Those with experience will have to chime in on that one.

Thank you for the input. I'll see if others have comments.

A simple check to be sure it's the panel would be great. As mentioned I've checked the power supply and TCON. Is there a check for the inverter board? This would the the only other thing to eliminate before deeming the panel faulty.

Don't waste time and peace of mind, the image tells clearly that backlight is not the problem. When you see the flickering have you got an image distortion? Watching this image i can suppose that maybe you have a failing bottom side tab on the left, i need other 2 images if possible. But only to do a diagnose, i think anyway there's nothing you can do without an oscilloscope. Maybe be you can do a jump between tabs..

The image does not distort when it flickers. At some times, the whole picture looks perfect.

What other images would you like? I can surely upload more this evening.

An image not black in the problem part. It's the precise separation between normal image and faulty part that says to you it's a lcd panel problem.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                    by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
                    by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
                    by smic717394
                    Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

                    Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                    by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
                    by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...
