Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550

update....i was not able to find correct main board ..too expensive..so aaron told me to buy a pn50a650 main board which is a lot larger but it was avail for about $40 so i bought it and mounted it on my pn50a550 and the tv now powers on perfect...aaron said it may work so i tried it

the board i bought was BN94-01819

original board for my tv is BN94-01658

the boards are different but it worked for me...its not a direct replacment but it does seem to work and better than having a working tv then not lol

see photos of alternate board mounted and tv with good picture

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550

so if someone wants a cheaper alternative to fix their pn50a550 with the infamous main board issue you can try my way and see if it works for you

my main board was not repairable.....so this was my only reasonable alternative since the original main board is just not avail and too costly if you can find them...

thanks aaron if you are out there

      you are awesome

Glad again this worked for you. It ended up even better than expected with the fit. My experience with the LCD equivalents and the 100s of board repairs certainly lead me to believe it would at least display the picture correctly.

        Enjoy!

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550

And ill bet the alternative board i used....doesnt have a design issue like original board has

Reason i know this ...is because when u search orig board on ebay all u see is repair services only and when u search the board i replaced it with there are no repair services on
          Ebay

              Samsung Plasma PN43D450A2D No Power
              by CDNBrewer
              Hello, I have a Samsung Plasma TV - Model # PN43D450A2D

This was my parents TV and the initial symptoms were that the display was hard to turn on with the display making various clicking noises until one day it would not turn on anymore.

I took a look and found a couple 1000uF capacitors (i believe on the low voltage size) that had leaked out their electrolyte and did not test well on a tester. I replaced them but still no dice.

When the TV is plugged in, there is no clicking, LED status lights (on PCB boards or the front display) and the power on button...

TV Samsung UE40MU6405U, not standby (after power failure)
              by Espartaco Smith
Hello, as I mentioned in the title, I have a Samsung TV at home, model UE40MU6405U, which is about 5 or 6 years old.

After a power company failure, the TV stopped turning on and even the standby light wouldn't come on. Over a period of about 10 seconds, the electricity kept going off and on repeatedly, and the TV died.

The power supply is: L40E6_KSM (BN44-00875A)
              The main board: BN41-02568B

The power supply board seems to be fine. All the voltages are present. If I disconnect it from the main board, I get backlight.

              I've also checked the...

Samsung UN58J5190 - Doesn't Power on and has Standby
              by Chris24
Hey everyone - I have a Samsung UN58J5190 with these symptoms: Does not power on, has standby light, standby light blinks 5 times after pressing "power on." When plugged in the power supply is making a very faint ticking sound, and this goes away when pressing power on.

Following instructions from the great team here in recent posts for Samsung with similar symptoms, I did the following tests:

I tested with mainboard disconnected from power supply - backlights do not come on (symptoms no change/5 red blinks)

              I tested with T-Con disconnected...

              Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
              by GLISIT
              Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Samsung UN50EH5300 - No Standby LED, Backlights ON, No Power
              by nathan425
Hello, I have a Samsung UN50EH5300 in my possession that I'm looking to bring back to life.

              Symptoms:
              • - no power
              • - no standby LED

              What I've done so far:
              - confirmed power supply is OK
              -- CN201 #4 showing 5.3V
              -- BD207 showing 5.3V
-- removing the cable between the main board and the power board turns on the backlight.

Pushing the power button on results in no change to any of the pins connecting the two boards.

              - function assembly appears to be NO GOOD
-- there is no voltage showing on any of...
