Are pins 1/3 on the bottom right of logic ...top 2 pins?....in the group of 4 pins?
See photo i posted earlierComment

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
I mean pins 3/4.....

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
And which cable do i disconnect?
The lvds or power ribbon cables going to main?Comment

Ok i removed the lvds cable from logic to main and jumpered pins 3/4 on logic and tv still cycles on and off and repeats indefinitely
Tv screen does not actually power on at all....no samsung jingle...nothing
But i do get good voltages coming from psComment

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
Correction....i do get some type of test pattern....i forgot to hook up buffer cables back..
I get red blue green solid display when i did what u said so that probably isolates to main board issue as you guys stated?Comment

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
if you got your test patterns with the control board jumped, then you should be on the right track looking at the main.
just remember that tantalum caps have the anode marked and electrolytics have the cathode marked. easy to put it in backwards.WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?Comment
-
Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
Yes i put in the electrlytic opposite...i get good 3.3 volts......cap wasnt the issue
Still searching for issue hope someone can helpComment
-
Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
The surface mount cap had band positive so i installed the electro cap with band opposite of band where old cap was.....it was done correctComment

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
My opinion is its a grahpics or memory chip issue....seems very similar to a hp laptop issue very common that laptop only powers on aftercseveral tries and stays on sometimes when on....after reflowing gpu chip it temporarily fixes issue
should i try reflowing again?...or will this stress board too muchComment

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
there are 2 47uf tantalum/poly caps in 2 seperate dc-dc bucks in that area.
replace both.
never had to replace ic.its always those 2 caps.
3.3 usually dies first.
iirc the other is 2.5.
i have some 100/16 polys i use.
a bit big but still fit with a bit of care.Comment

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550

Re: Samsung plasma wont power on pn50a550
I found c131 it was on top side of board not bottom like c102 is on
They are both same spec caps....i will try to replace c131
To test voltage on c131 would i just meter both ends of cap and should be 2.5v?Comment

by CDNBrewerHello, I have a Samsung Plasma TV - Model # PN43D450A2D
This was my parents TV and the initial symptoms were that the display was hard to turn on with the display making various clicking noises until one day it would not turn on anymore.
I took a look and found a couple 1000uF capacitors (i believe on the low voltage size) that had leaked out their electrolyte and did not test well on a tester. I replaced them but still no dice.
When the TV is plugged in, there is no clicking, LED status lights (on PCB boards or the front display) and the power on button... -
Hello, as I mentioned in the title, I have a Samsung TV at home, model UE40MU6405U, which is about 5 or 6 years old.
After a power company failure, the TV stopped turning on and even the standby light wouldn't come on. Over a period of about 10 seconds, the electricity kept going off and on repeatedly, and the TV died.
The power supply is: L40E6_KSM (BN44-00875A)
The main board: BN41-02568B
The power supply board seems to be fine. All the voltages are present. If I disconnect it from the main board, I get backlight.
I've also checked the... -
by XConSymptom is TV has standby, I get relay click, voltage rails come up, but no screen and TV shuts down after 5 seconds. If I disconnect the Z from the y sus, the unit stays powered up and I can read voltages.
So I've read the two other threads on this TV and I can confirm the Y-Sus #EAX64789501 does not have diode or resister failure. Did not see any fractured solder joints on the transformer or anywhere else. All power boards have slight discoloration on the hot spots.
The board in question is EAX64789601, Z board. I have 208 going to Y Sus, 5v standby. Pin 5 on P174 connector... -
by Chris24Hey everyone - I have a Samsung UN58J5190 with these symptoms: Does not power on, has standby light, standby light blinks 5 times after pressing "power on." When plugged in the power supply is making a very faint ticking sound, and this goes away when pressing power on.
Following instructions from the great team here in recent posts for Samsung with similar symptoms, I did the following tests:
I tested with mainboard disconnected from power supply - backlights do not come on (symptoms no change/5 red blinks)
I tested with T-Con disconnected... -
by GLISITHi all,
TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!
I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!
A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about... - Loading...
