I did not word it well, what I meant was try also the replacement A-board as well.
Oh I gotcha. Yeah I should have tried that first. I will tonight.

I don't think we lost power, (no clocks flashing or anything), but it did happen here in MA when we had high winds from the Hurricane coming up the coast, so that has me skeptical.

In your opinion, do you think I should return the AB board and buy and AC board? I did find one online I believe.. crazy money they want! But I get why... they are rare!

I think having the correct board would be handy but working out the bad part first would be even better. This is not a fault code I've had to troubleshoot.

This is also an option. Now it may even be worth dropping them a line as they will test the board first. If they find it's not defective then they charge a small fee and send it back. Now I'm wondering if it's feasible to send the A and both P boards to them for testing?

Wow, nice find and good advice! I had a board saved in my bookmarks, but after calling them and speaking to a customer service rep and technician, they believe it is most likely the A board and that I just need the AC board. So, I ordered one and let's up that's the fix! Better price and great service so I had to give them the business.

I'll check back after it comes in, thanks for the help as always!

UPDATE : THE TV IS FIXED!! Pts electronics unfortunately couldn't fix any of their in store AC main boards, but I finally found another store online with an AC board, just got it in 5 minutes ago and it fired right up and looks great!!

          Hopefully for years to come!

Can anyone recommend a good surge protector for the coax cable line?

Thanks for all your help in steering me in the right direction!

No, good to hear. Surprised at PTS. What do you mean they can't fix in store boards? Don't know how? No parts? Nothing to test it on? Just curious.

They told me once they receive an order they pull an in Stock dead board out of their inventory and make the repair. The boards they had in Stock they were not able to repair and ship out. So they just sent me an email and refunded me. Not a big deal but kinda expected the board to be ready to go when I ordered.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                After all of...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

Hello Friends, i am having this model Panasonic TH-L32C30D, suddenly when i switch on, it went on One Blink, after looking at the service manual it says Backlight_SOS, I can see the menu on the tv screen for few seconds in the dark with the help of flashlight Before it goes into blinking cycle.
