    philips 55pfl5527t/12 Problem

    Hi!

I have a Philips 55 inch led tv. The model mentioned in the topic.
The TV was previously used daily for extensive periods of time to show school schedule ie. static image.

Then the tv got broken and I salvaged it from being thrown to electronic waste.

    Symptoms:
First horizontal lines appeared on the screen. By time the problem got eventually so bad that the image was completely unclear. The screen also has darker are in the middle which gets smaller after a moment of having it on.
Also when I tested the tv I was unable to get sound from the tv loudspeakers (might be that I was just not able to adjust the volume..)

What is your guess? What might be the faulty component? Could it have something to do with the T-con board? Im afraid it might be a bad panel but would want to investigate.

Here is an image that the tv shows. the lines kind of vanish after few minutes of operation but no image whatsoever.
The screen does not produce any image on the sides of the screen.

I already now thank all of you that can help with this.

Panel looks OK. Clean and re-seat cables from Main Bd to T-CON Bd and cables from T-CON Bd. to the Panel. Possible Backlight issue, too.

Thank you so far for the replies!
Yes, some have strong opinion that it's a bad panel. That might be true.
In any case I already ordered a replacement T-con just to rule out that option. I will try that. That costed about 10 euros so no big investment.

I will also clean the connections as adviced.
What would be a good method for that so that I don't ruin something with too harsh methods?

I attach a picture of the current T-con board.

I don't know the utility of tcon picture if you have ordered one other...

                Re: philips 55pfl5527t/12 Problem

disconnect one ribbon cable that goes from the t-con to the panel and see if you get half of a picture, then reseat it and do the same for the other half. if you can get half a clean pic with one half but messed up with the other half, then you will have a panel fault most likely.

                good luck.

                  Hi!

Now the new T-con board arrived but unfortunately it has some component that is placed in a position named "45 inch" and the old one has the component in "55 inch" position. The tv is 55 inch.

I concluded the test with cable ribbons removed on either side and then with the new T-con board.
                  1. ribbon removed: full screen is black and no lines visible.(pict no end:2456)
                  2. ribbon removed: other side is black and other side has lines and grey (pict no end:2925)
                  3. new component: some parts are black and majority of the screen is showing grey with lines. (pict no end:3539)

                  Pictures in attachments.

I also cleaned the cables coming to and from the T-con board.

                  What do you think?

                  Thank you for your help!

                          Hi guys
I'm trying to fix this laptop screen

Basically the owner is a computer shop and they brought it to me with two screens. They said the repair shop they use could not fix it, so I thought i would try to see if I am better than their current repairer!

OK so I have the original screen which works but has lines across the bottom quarter of the screen

I have the replacement screen, which they fitted and it worked. They then put the laptop on one side for a couple of weeks until they found a buyer. When they showed it to the buyer, the screen would...

                          Hello again everyone,

This is my latest mission, to try getting this Sony tv back to normal working order…

I've only just got it today, when you power it up everything is as should be, in fact it works perfectly for a few minutes then the screen starts getting horizontal lines on & eventually the full screen goes back, I will upload photos of the problem & also some photos of the board etc. You might notice that I'm busy trying the tape method, I'm not sure exactly where the clock lines are so I'm just guessing & hoping for the best lol . I've already tried...

I got this TV from a friend. It could not be turned on. After checking the internet (including this forum), I decided to try reflowing the bga chips with heat gun. The first one I tried is the one covered with a small heat sink, but that did not make the tv work. Then I tried reflowing the main processor which is covered by a large heat sink, and I did make the tv works again. (I removed the heat sinks before reflowing).

However, I found that the screen/image quality is with problem. Please see the attached photos. Did my reflowing damage something and make the screen like this? Can...

Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...
