well this thing is wearing me out, Led tester on red and black string wires all led's light up, no voltage coming from terminal with red/blk wires, so i think LED driver circuit not working, checked all voltages across terminal plug and get all 12V and 3V working fine, Not sure what to check next.,
Are the two diode connected to the led output connector. They may be connected via 0 ohm resistors. Cannot tell from the pictures but you say you have no voltage on the red/black wires but 267V on the diodes which I would have though would be the led supply.
You need to check the DCV at the LED connectors with ref. to Chassis GND. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...9&d=1498138335
Based on the picture, report the DCV staring from the top red wire:
Top red wire =
Blck wire =
Red wire =
White wire =
So far it looks like you have open circuit in the LED string.
okay I will get you those readings, all the led strings have been replaced, I guess shop jimmy could have sent out a defective one? they all light up with testing on the red and black wire with my led tester and shows 90 Volts being the draw. I will put this back on and get the readings and post them in the am. thank you
Sure hope it's not an open LED circuit in the new strips somewhere, here is the reply i received from SJ on replacement set.
Hello
Sorry to hear that's the case! Unfortunately we do not currently have these strips available to replace for you, we likely won't see more for another 1-2 months. Happy to take this back for a full refund of course. You can head here; (Omitted) to set up a return for refund and print a prepaid USPS shipping label to cover the return shipping back to us. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions on this.
Top red wire = 267 V
Blck wire = 187 V
Red wire = 187 V
White wire = 0 V
The LED string with Red/White wire does not look right. Did you use the LED tester to test both LED strings by applying the tester to each LED connector?
whole panel lights up only with led tester probes on red and black wires, red and white does nothing when led tester probes are placed on these two
Well, that means the LED string connected to the RED/WHITE wires is dead, you have two LED strings connected in series as you can see how they are connected by looking at the bottom side of the board where the two LED connectors are. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...5&d=1498188398
well that's not good news, :-( I will tear it back down and see what i can find. will post findings in a bit, Thank you budm and everybody for all your help, Much appreciate this site. and all the great people willing to lend a hand, not too common these days so i'm grateful.
well perplexed a bit, every led on the string that would not light tested good individually, but the string would not light as a whole, I replaced it with a used one i had from the old set, now were cooking i think, will post final results when assembled and working. remember, this was a brand new set of LED strips ordered from a reputable company, SJ, Lesson here, TEST,TEST,TEST, even if it is brand new, it would have taking me a few seconds to check this before spending all the time. trying to figure this thing out, assembly, disassembly, and wasting other folks time as well. Valuable lesson learned here.
