hey ya all, hope all is well with you folks. Hope to ask for some help, this Hitachi set i am working on has no back light but does have an image via the flashlight test. my question is this: there are 66 LED's in this set, 6 rows of 11, at 1.5V each should require 99V to turn them on. well I am getting 186V at the power supply terminals that go the the LED's on one pair and 0V on the other pair, I am thinking the strips LED, are toast and not presenting a load on the power board, but the voltage seems awful high even with no load??? Thanks for your help all.

sounds like bad led's. time to open it up and check them.WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS? -
Re: Hitachi LE55A6R9 LED Issue or?
How do you know they are 1.5v? My experience is around 3.2v. Budm and others are the experts so my correct me but seems if each connector is feeding 3 strings then you have bad diode or something on side with 0v. Could we get a picture of back of board?Last edited by dskall; 05-30-2017, 08:47 PM.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

Re: Hitachi LE55A6R9 LED Issue or? HOPE this HELPS Someone
so in testing the LED strips I came across an issue i have not seen before. most may already know but i didn't. after much reading i decided to buy an LED tester (GOLDEN) My strips will not light up HOWEVER all led lamps tested good and do light up individually, Problem seems to be this little fuse of diode not sure exactly what it is but it no longer allows the flow of current to the strips, see Pictures, so i have perfectly good LED's but bad tiny i will call them fuses for now, thought about bridging them, but then came to realize they are what i believe to be protection against power surges possibly, any thoughts from you pros is appreciated, i have read about the high failure rate on these LED strips in Hitachi sets, may not be the LED's at all, just this little fuse? STD DIODE??? LOLLast edited by LITEZONER; 06-08-2017, 11:14 AM.39 Soldering Iron burns And CountingComment

Protection diode in case wrong power supply polarity is connected to the LED strip?
Is it connected in parallel with the two pin of the connector?Never stop learning

if there is one on each strip, have you tested them, and how many have failed?WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?Comment

Re: Hitachi LE55A6R9 LED Issue or?
Are you saying that none of the led strips light up when testing with your led tester or just one of the strips. Is there an A7 device on all the strips.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: Hitachi LE55A6R9 LED Issue or?
there is an A7 on every strip, none of them light all together up but every LED tested good individually. A7 are only on the lead strip where they connect, trailing strips light up fine together.Last edited by LITEZONER; 06-09-2017, 09:52 AM.39 Soldering Iron burns And CountingComment

I still do not understand the situation, if you test EACH LED strip by itself (not connected to other strip or the circuit), do each strip light up using the tester?Never stop learning

by MDY94I own a Hitachi 50HK6100U with a display fault. After some troubleshooting, I've found that removing one tcon cable produces a clear image on the side still connected. Removing the other tcon still provides display output; however, this is a heavily distorted image. With both cables connected, only the top ~25% of the screen provides display output which is still distorted. It's only when both are connected that most of the screen no longer provides output. The attached images show the screen with each tcon cable disconnected, and one with both connected. The red line shows where the display cuts...3 Photos

by navagatorI have a Hitachi 57F710E Rear Projection TV that was working great until 3 or 4 days ago. I came in and tried to turn it on and it was just dead. So, I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Nothing, not even the slight click that it makes when you plug it in. So, I removed the power supply board (It's a vertically mounted board, I believe model HA01312) and inspected it visually for bulged caps or burnt or overheated components, anything that didn't look right and couldn't find anything.
I noticed on the bottom of the board there was a row of solder joints with voltages printed next... -
by AJ847.63eHi Folks,
Just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding of mine (or what I expect is one). Isn't the 12V rail from the 24 pin, EPS and PCIE separated? IE if I put a power resistor on the ATX 12V pin that is not going to load, thus tell me if the EPS or PCIE rails are fine?
I was recently watching ArIs from Hardware Busters video on how to properly test ATX PSUs without using 5 figure Croma substations.
The PCB adapter he used breaks out the 12, 5 and 3.3V pins from the 24 pin and gives you banana plugs to connect to. That is a bit useless is it not? Aren't... -
I have a TCL 43S435 with no backlights. I contacted ShopJimmy and they said power supply. I got replacement power supply, but still doesnt work. I have confirmed that there is an image with flashlight test. I have also verified that the led strips work when I probe them with LED tester. Any ideas would be helpful. I am also geting a double blink on the status led when trying to turn it on......Nothing on the power supply looks suspect, and caps look ok. Where should I start to test......Thanks!...4 Photos
