    Santo LCD-40xr11f. Inverter tcon screen ??

    Given this 2011 set with logo coming up but inverter switching off. Cheap new inverter sourced and fitted. All good and I play DVD to test - while this was going after about 15 minutes the picture jumped a little with audio out of synch but then stabilised within 30 seconds leaving a thin horizontal area of discolouration right across bottom of screen as per pic. I don't have the experience to make a quick diagnosis so asking the question to those that do. Thanks in advance.

      give the bezel a slight twist and see if it effects the picture at all.
      WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

          I assume you have tried different inputs besides dvd.
          I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

              Sorry yes have twisted bottom bezel and used HDMI and AV inputs both with DVD and remote signal receiver from TV retransmitter.

                  I think you have a T-CON issue. Does this TV have a separate T-CON Bd that you can disconnect one side and do a test or is the T-CON part of the Panel? Pictures please so we could see what we are dealing with?

                      Thanks for that yes it is a dedicated tcon and my first choice. Won't be able to get back to this set now for a few weeks as travelling away.
                      Prime thought is why did picture play up with loss of audio synch when all going well on face of it??

                          I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

                          Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

                          My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

                          This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                          Hi,
                          i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

                          Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

                          Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

                          Appreciate your help....

                          I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

                          Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
