    arc on a pin while testing ps

    Finally after receiving the second power supply while checking voltages and being distracted I accidentally arched pin 7 and knew it was a problem. Having checked back on pin 5 which was 13.14 and is now 0, I dont know what is blown. The board is for a Sharp and is a Delta RUNTKB057WJQZ (DPS-168JP A) Bud had helped me figure the problems on the original board which were:

    No command to turn on PNL12V for running the T-CON
    No BL-ON to turn on backlights circuit
    No dimming control:

    The second board I bought arrived damaged and this is the 3rd. If anyone has any info on chasing down what I've blown, I would be more than grateful.

    Did you check the regulator for that circuit?

    i use to get that mistake of tripping pins due to the thickness of my Dm probes,so i 've gotten a big sewing needle and attached it with tape to the Positive probe of the Dm multimeter, i use clipper to attach the ground to the chassis and use the thin tip of the needle to check the pins on the connections,pins on the Ics and everything else and now i never short anything anymore.

      Thats a good idea, I actually am able to turn the board around and andle the board and put one screw in. I wished I did that before. Here is a picture of the pinout from another ps very similar. It seems 5,6,7 and 8 are "UR13.2V" and "UR13.14V on 5,6,7 and 8 were i believe on mine. I am not exactly sure how to pinpoint the regulator that this or 5,6 or 8. I would imagine they all use the same regulator- and I do have a backup board for parts. How many components are in the regulator? How did you pinpoint and find yours?

        What do You mean by similar board?you can't use a similar board you have to use the exact power board for your Modle#, which by the way nobody knows cause you never posted what TV modle# you have,and that's essential for people here to help

              That UR13V is high current power supply section generated by transformer T7601 and full wave rectified by D7130, 7131, so check and see if they are damaged or not.
              You could also have blown the fusible resistor R7601 in the primary side that supplies the Boosted Voltage to the Power MOSFETs Q7601, 7602 which form the half-bridge drive for the primary winding of Transformer T7601.
              if the fusible resistor is blown then those tow MOSFETs may be damaged.
              The UR13V will only come on when PS-ON is present.

                The model is an LC-60LE600U. I think you misunderstood me if I conveyed it correctly but was making a reference to the pinout information from a ps from another Sharp that has pinout info very close to mine specifically pins 5, 6, 7 and 8 being 'UR13V'. It's the only reference or starting point of identifying pin 7 and I have no diagram or schematic for my power supply.

                  PD connector pin 5, 6, 7, and 8 are all tied together to the UR13V output, and you had shorted shorted to GND; pin 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12 are GND pins.

                    Wow I should have this thing fixed or at least figured out- thanks bud- I replaced the eeprom for the main with a new programmed eeprom then the last ps before I arched out pin 7 and still nothing, not a hint of life so once getting the ps squared away I should have the voltage regulators for the main by then which hopefully gets it eorking.

                      Hi bud I have continuety on the fusaible resistor R7601, so the Mosfet transistors Q7601 & 7602 should be fine? I dont know how to test them or the D7130 or 7130 (3) leg transistors?

                        They are Common Cathode Diode, just look up the spec sheet using the P/N as printed on the diode.
                        What is the resistance reading on that resistor, <1 Ohms? Continuity does not mean much since 1000 Ohms is also consider having continuity because it is not open circuit. We need reading in Ohm, make sure to report if the meter shows it in OHM, K OHM ,or M OHM.

                          From the first couple ohm readings, they seem to go one direction and if not were 0's but the R7601ohm readings are:
                          2000k - 001
                          200k - 00.1
                          20k - 0.01, 0.02 and 0.013 (vasilated a few times but mostly 0.01
                          2000 - 009
                          200 - 00.9

                            OK, that is good and it means no shorted MOSFETs in the primary drive circuit.
                            You do have PS-ON signal on PD connector pin 14, right?

                              I have 2.08 on pin 14. Before I arched pin 7 on the psu and had replaced the eeprom on the main with a new programmed eeprom but after putting the boards in I could not get it to turn on and also tried a few power/ vol button combinations to somehow get an error but nothing…
