thanks heavy, tw, reecey, I appreciate the tips and resources. have determined definitely have a bad SU buffer and bad SC/Y. I totally agree about sourcing parts from eBay, but sometimes SJ doesn't have what I need in stock. I always try SJ first. SJ sells on eBay too, I prefer to buy SJ through eBay for the "bonus bucks." pretty sure people just remove parts from cracked screens and sell the guts without any testing. gonna order boards now and I'll update the post when the parts arrive. thanks!

by the way, is there a trick to connecting the ribbon cables from the panel to the buffer boards? I get it all aligned and get the cable past the plastic notches and locked down. just kinda difficult, is there a better way or is that par for the course?

There are few others like tristate module, electropartsonline, Payless components etc....

thanks heavy, I looked at Payless but they were out of stock on one part, ordered from SJ instead. thanks for the heads up on tristate and electropartsonline. I think I saw some for sale on eBay from electro. Cheers!

Re: Panasonic Viera Plasma TC-P60S30 (weird blob on screen)

hello again, back to update. so, I ended up replacing the SC, SU, SD, and power boards. now the TV works again but I still have a few horizontal lines. I know this could be from the ribbon cables not seating properly so I want to adjust them.

here is where I screwed up last time; I adjusted them while the power was on! eek

so my question is, what's the proper way? remove power, let the caps drain... do I disconnect SC2 and SS11? thanks!

Yes never on plasma do you disconnect anything while energized the high current will ripple and surge and pop things. Yes discharge for minimal of 30 seconds power cord must be disconnected.

Just some info that i have found for Panasonics plasmas
for the tabs ,make sure they are seated very well . when they are hold to tabs in and unclip and reclip the locking tabs a few times before leaving in the clipped state , i find that this usually corrects the issue with connections . also inspect the tap fingers for any damage as this can happen if they are not inserted correctly

thanks chris, I took your advice and tried that a few times. didn't change anything. there doesn't appear to be any physical damage. is it okay to spray in some DeOxit contact cleaner?

well, cleaned with deoxit silver and gold. lines changed a bit but they are still there. could something else be causing the lines? if I tap on the ribbon cable the lines change. I've reseated them a dozen times.

all is good now! found that in order to get the ribbon cables to seat perfectly into the SU/SD boards, I had to loosen the screws holding said boards. seems so simple, hope it'll save someone else the frustration.

Dead Panasonic Viera TX-P65STW50 Plasma TV
                        by badcappo
Hello, got a ST50 plasma TV for repair. No signs of life, not even blink codes. Opened it up to check the power supply, type MPF6914. Apparent issues from visual detection and measuring for shorts:
                        Diode type G972s6 - D101 with a short
                        Mosfet 06N90E - Q301 shorted
                        Fuse T5AH 250V - F103 blown
                        Diode D301 shorted
                        Relay DG1U-17VDC II - RL001 blown

I have not found a circuit diagram. Maybe someone here already dealt with a similar issue? Thanks for tips where else to check 😀...

forgot to put the model number in the last post, could not edit it, guess I waited to long. anyway, has anyone seen this weird issue on one of these plasma sets, I was thinking maybe a loose ribbon, but wanted to check if anyone had seen this before. thank you...

(Weird) BIOS info for HP Pavilion Aero 13-be1021AU
                        by Loki_Fido
                        Hi folks,

This HP Pavilion Aero 13-be1021AU came to me for a repair. And it seems to have a weird BIOS chip. (Pic attached)
I asked my CH341A to read it and doesn't even know what to do with this. We are both very confused.

                        BIOS - XMC 25RU128CH10 (1.8v)

What the heck is this? I looked all over the MB. This is the only bios.
When I asked the NeoProgrammer to detect it, it just pops up an empty screen, and asked me to enter the bios number. And when I did, it doesn't do anything. NeoProgrammer showed me just this SPI ID: 204418. Don't know what...

Weird blurry -no-picture on Plasma TC-P60S30
                        by paulstef
                        Hi

This TV has no picture, or nothing that resembles a real picture, just some slowly changing blurry forms and pixels. It ends up having a jumping white square in the middle, presumably the "no source connected" message, I guess.

Front LED turns on normal. Vsus is 209.8V. +15Vc is ok also.
Power semiconductors on all boards tested, ok. SS and SC board LEDs are lit. (Tnpa5400 and Tnpa5399)
I should mention the TV was extremely dusty when I got it.
                        What else could I test?

                        Thanks...

                        Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
                        a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
                        c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...
