So I bought this TV off of craigslist. The guy told me it had a border LED problem. So after a couple hours of checking voltages and trying the input/vol- reset, I can get it to power up but only if the LED's are unplugged. I can see snow when I shine a flashlight on the screen. When I plug the LED's back in to the power supply, the led's flash for a second then the whole thing shuts down. Have any of you ran in to this before? Is this a shorted LED strip?

Re: Sharp LC-60le600u
the leds are basically in series. The system monitors how much current is being drawn and shuts things down rapidly IF it detects an "unusual condition". There is some "sub components" (a diode) that may allow for partially current flow past a bad component.Comment

Re: Sharp LC-60le600u
The led's do flicker through pulse width modulation, but you will not see them pulse. One or more led's failed and would have to be replaced to repair tv. Not that hard but a delicate job to get panel off without breaking.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

Re: Sharp LC-60le600u
Ok, I found multiple problems. The connector on the power board had a couple solder joints that were bad. One had almost no solder. I repaired both of those. Now the LED's come on blindingly bright. But, there is one bad LED. Can I simply jump around it? Should I remove it? Do you know of any videos of how to do it?Comment

Re: Sharp LC-60le600u
You can replace bad led or replace with zener diode. Many videos on youtube. Norcal715 has one were he replaced with zener diode on edgelit. Don't jumper around it.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

I have the same model with exact same issue. Do you know the part # for the LED bars? I rather order new LEDs but prefer not to take the TV apart until the parts arrive.Comment

by PipolupsHi there !
I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...10-08-2024, 11:58 AM -
by JayPoorJayHi all. This is my second thread. Have a bunch of questions.
I got my hands on a 70 inch Sharp Aquos LC70EQ10U. Not working when I found it.
I replaced the power board (found in eBay) and the TV finally produced an image. Reset it had image and sound.. Went from 2 slow and 2 fast blinks as a fault code to 1 slow 1 fast fault. Lamps or inverters according to the manual. TV is one now, at this moment (looks great w/ ZERO dark spots on screen) but it powering up and producing an image is unpredictable. 3 out of 10 times.
There are 3 leads to the LEDs.... -
by edugimenoHi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth... -
by Superbee_dadHello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

by benareenoI wonder if i shorted the whole strip...where to put pos and neg to just light up a single diode...or the entire strip. The strip lit for a second...so maybe i fried it? What say you?
I have an adjustable dc power supply and was trying around 9 volts.
I have a pic of a single diode...where to put pos and neg terminals to light it up?
Pic of middle of strip..is this where i light the entire strip?
And pic of end...or does this light the entire strip?
Where to put pos and neg for single diode..multiple diodes and the entire... - Loading...
