panasonic tx-p42ut30 6 blink led problem

    hello guys!!!
i d like to start a thread to have a fix guide for the specific model and get some help from experts of the forum so my tv doesn t end up in the jankyard..
the sc board is the tnpa 5349 same with the s30 if i am not wrong..
the picture stays on for some secs and suts down with 6 blinks red led.
i know there is a kit for the sc board that fix the problem in most tvs of this type but before ordering it i d like to do some search if this is really the problem and not something else..
    any sugestions to begin with??

Remove the board from the tv.

On the back of the board resolder the ground pads. Get replacement screws ( lockwasher screws ). and tighten the screws.

Also tighten the screws on all other boards like SS and C boards , they will be loose also.

6 blink is a problem in the energy recovery circuit. I think this problem is the beginning of the 7 blink problem OR the mainboard is overheating. ( BGA solder problem ).

Lets try the soldering on the ground pads + screws first.

There is no need for measurements because the tv turns off randomly. Do you have 215V going to Vsus?

Solder the ground pads first and use the lockwasher screws. Tighten all the screws and see if it gets better. This can also be caused by the mainboard.

Re: panasonic tx-p42ut30 6 blink led problem

Hmm its normal , all models suffer the same problem. Its the beginning of the end and your lucky the sc board did not fail yet.
If this won't fix the problem then my only advice is a new mainboard because on these boards the parts work or don't work. There is no way in between.

Ps , when you resolder just do it gentle and make it look as new. You don't need much solder. Tiny bit of solder and reflow the whole pad. Its pretty easy if you have a 60W solder iron or good solder station. ( Middle to big tip ).

so if resoldering on the sc board doesnt work your sugestion moreno is to replace the mainboard?
can you please become a bit more detailed because I do not have the experience to understand many things easily.
there is a case the repair kit for tnpa 5349 to fix the problem or i must look for another board failure?
                  edit:
the tv doesnt turn off randomly,it just turn on for a few secs always, with a low light picture and then shuts and gives you 6 blinks

The repair kit is normally for boards that have the 7 blinks problem. Your board has trouble turning on.

First reflow the ground pads and use different screws and come back with the results.

                      Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                      by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                      by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
                      by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...
