Sony KDL-55W800A green / amber status flash

    Hi guys,

I'm a newbie to all this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated...

My initial problem was I had the red light blinking three times, after all checks in the service manual, proceeded to replace the BA2S (main)board as it was the most likely cause, now after powering on the TV, the green and amber status LEDs flash on an oscillating basis...

I have downloaded the latest firmware from the Sony website, formatted a USB stick to FAT32 and copied to the root folder of the USB. The TV when powering up reads the USB drive and flashes a couple of times but then stops. This has now been on for about an hour, still no progress, just flashing amber, green, amber, green...

When the TV powers up, the white status LED comes on, the panel LED backlight flashes for 1/2 second and then the green/amber starts flashing.

Is there another way to "force" update the firmware on the TV? I don't have the original remote, if I get one and do a reset, will this work to enable me to get into the settings menu, or is there anything else I could try first?

    Thanks

First we need to see some high resolution, straight shot pictures of all your boards and another one of the backside of the TV to see how all is connected together.

Did you try unhooking everything but the backlights from the PSU and force the PSU on? Once the PSU is up and running, do the backlights stay on and all voltage rails on the secondary are up and running?
