Don't you love LED back light!

Don't you love LED back light!
Plasma TVs are a pain to fix, but I due love the picture of a plasma.
The LED back light is such a common failure now.
Yes it's a pain pulling the screen but the repair is low cost.
And there's so many in the local recycle been.
here's one I got yesterday which has three shorted leds!

120volts " but the repair is low cost." enjoy it while it lasts, OLED will replace LED back light TV, then QLED, the quantum dots TV, will replace OLED.

    Reference:

The future of TVs may not be OLED after all, but something quite different

Nah , i will watch plasma for a few years untill Oled has normal prices and all problems are fixed. Some of these lg oleds have problems with the screen.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

I am sure they will drive those OLED so hard too, and it will just fail like regular LED.

OLED or QLED are failed to delivered the level current forum A, A+ or A++ , also all at range B ,B+ , which make them less in sell till they reach the level of now day LED A++ of LED backlight.

Why would you want to buy Oled anyways. Compared to the latest Panasonic plasma's you won't see much difference watching normal tv. Don't know how it is in the USA or UK but in the Netherlands tv is a 720P upscaled on 50HZ

Diah , you mean energy saving level?

if you have the right equipment to display stream data, most terrestrial & sat tv is actually only 480.
some shit like shopping channels and other "animated test patterns" as i like to think of them can be even lower.

Hmm true. Here we have glasfiber connection , its 720P stream which gets upscaled to 1080p. ( software ).

Im still hoping to get a Panasonic VT60 or a ZT60...but they are so expensive , even second hand.

I have a LG Plasma its 720p max but i have spent a long time setting it up and tweeking it.
The picture in my mind is excellent and I wont be changing it till it dies.

Only thing that would tempt me into a LED or OLED telly or LCD even is running costs.

As far as I know, my Telly is somewhat powerhungry compared with the other options.
No idea how much running cost are a day/year tho to be fair.

With a big screen plasma set you can turn the heating down in you living room, and sit round it to keep warm, the same could be said for big LCD if LED back light are run flatout. they both make good room heaters

This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...

                          by djordje
                          Hello all,

I have Philips Oled 55 (804/12) with black screen and red light blink.

I have opened TV and tested voltages based on similar oled topics, on power supply board i am getting ps_o/f 3.3v and 5v for t-con_o/f while panel_o/f is 0v. And i get black screen.

Also i have done self psb test and i am getting on psb +12V_t and also + 24V for panel. (Measurements on dmm are + 12.3V fot t-con and 22.4 for panel)

When i power only psb and tcon with 4 ribbons for panel i only get black screen.

My questions is what should i do next...
