Re: Polaroid le32gcl flashing stanby led followed by logo screen
Hello Peeps,
Hopefully someone can help me out of the Sh1Te!!!
I have tried installing/flashing the firmware for this tv, as a member on here kindly sent me the file.
Unfortunately this has left the set in a worse or at least different problem than what i started off with.
The set now thinks its a vortex?? (never heard of them) i wasnt to fussed about that, but it left me with 2 problems.
Now the Polaroid remote wont work the set? ( thought that even though...
Polaroid le32gcl flashing stanby led followed by logo screen
Went round to do a house maintenance job today at an old dears near me.
Whilst there she asks if I know anything about TV's.
So says yes and then gets shown her patient.
Its a horrible Polaroid Lcd telly, quite a good pic tho, to give it, its due.
The lady tells me, it can take upto 3 hours before it comes on with a picture, it will then generally stay on.
However, if you pop it into standby even after its had its prolonged warm up, and has been playing happily, when you boot it back up you get a flashing stanby LED between red and blue,...
Yup its def a Lost in translation thing as I didnt understand your previous post re The IR board.
I have re Read it and get what your saying now.
Unfortunately I can try your suggestion as the Socket on the IR board has come off the board(print all lifted) and is attached to the Plug.
Hence why i was wondering if i could solder, lead from main panel directly to the tracks of the IR board.
Hope the makes sense for you, my description.
But as I said on previous post, I am not bothered if IR board is disconected,...
ah OK, i thought you had taken the hump and was being funny.
As you can tell from my response though, I kept my reply in theme and a measured rebuttal .
I came up with that name at school when I was a Master, now I shouldnt use it as I am a Mr.
Mrbateson isnt quite as funny, and yes like most of us, I can be a bit of a ##nker ! the odd time or two.
I know you havent but i have.
Not going to try and solder direct to print unless i have to.
As Ive said, If monitor will come on and auto detect my PC's input, then I dont mind if the IR panel is non functioning or disconected.
I think your talking more or less about what I had in mind Davi.
Many moons ago in one of my other lives, we used to repair print on circuit boards of Tellys.
We used to scratch of the Laquer/coating of the print run solder onto the exposed print, then solder a tinned wire to the track and finally we re coated the bridge with nail varnish to insulate (your choice of colour)
Hoping I can find a circuit diagram, strip off the wires of the connecting cables plug and solder directly to the track.
But as I've said,...
I disconected pin 6 BL on and no change still no display.
Not bothered about the IR board as such Bud, but was worried that if it was disconected/broken whether that would stop the monitor firing up.
As far as i was aware this samsung is marketed as a tv/monitor or monitor/tv.
Yes it has a tuner but guy I bought it from was using it as a monitor and that is all i want to use it for.
Just tried your link Bud! I see what you did there, full marks and a shiny apple for you.
I can Pal! Will dig my camera out, I'll post the board details on too.
I am getting the feeling this Patient may not be salvagable at a reasonable cost.
Just noticed the Connector for the IR board is also Knackered, I wonder if display would come up and display via its VGA input and could be used as a monitor that way, but just without the IR/ touch panel functionality.
Maybe Its going to end up as sold for bits on ebay, (PSU,Remote and screen) I really would Like to be able to use this monitor for myself though rather than...
I have found something interesting out.
When I unplugged the main board from the PSU, I got a white Illuminated Screen? Now thats odd, you unplug the power and your screen lights up?
Am I seeing the Backlight when it does this, which presumably comes from the four pin plug at the bottom of the PSU, and if so am I getting no display as the screen is displaying a completely black screen (all pixels on?)
plug in ---------------------- unplugged
Yes, i get it.
I was having a laugh/tongue in cheek mate.
Just on a bit of a learning/re'learning curve as not been in the back of anything for a while with a meter.
Hopefully I will get half an hour tonight to re test.
