Sanyo dp42d24 will not turn on

I have a Sanyo dp42d24 that when I press the power button nothing happens. I checked for power at each of the voltage regulators(4) and got all the correct outputs (1.15,1.8,3.3 and 5v). I also got 12v on audio and 40v on the two led outputs from the board. I checked the power leg of the bios chip and got 3.3 volts. The connector pin on the board where the power button connects goes from 5v to 0 when depressed. The led light never goes on. Can someone please provide me with the firmware? I would also like any advice on what to try next.
    Thanks you, Ira

PS. The tv has a single board, plus tcon.

IMHO either replace that main board or junk the TV. It is one of these boards where the main IC does everything. So it probably go a little tickle through one of the HDMI ports, frying the main IC.

+1 normally spi flash Ic firmware corrupts causing these to be stuck in standby. But its easier to replace the board than finding the firmware.

I have seen the bios chip sold online. Is there a way to tell if it is the bios chip or the main IC?

That depends on the history of the tv

Re: Sanyo dp42d24 will not turn on

then it depends on how much time, headache and $$$ you want to spend to fix it or not, because of no history.
All you can try here is to freeze the eeprom (can of air upside down) I have a 75% success rate identifying a bad eeprom that way.
If you read the eeprom description @ SJ, it sez that it will help, IF the LED doesn't change color. You can try to call SJ and ask if the STBY LED supposed to be light up or not when the TV is off. Your's isn't on at all. For me, I'd be changing that board. Who knows what happened to the TV.

Freeze spray did not work. I tried it on the eeprom chip. Then on the main processor msd3393.

Not yet. i plugged a usb drive into the tv. I then plugged in the power cord, the usb drive blinked once. So maybe the tv looked for firmware, maybe it was just the usb port powering the drive for a split second.

Recently I've gotten into EC flashing due to my broken laptop(s) and started frantically searching methods for flashing the IT5571E-128 chip on the cheap(due to me beaing a student and not having a job) and noticed that ITE newer chips can be flashed via ISP (In-System Programming) either via SMBus or the KBC (EPP - Enhanced Parallel Port) interface. While these can be achieved with programmers like SVOD4/3 or the RT809H/F those options are WAYYY out of my budget so I was horrified. But recently I stumbled uppon some programmers on aliexpress that claim they can program a variety of ITE chips...

Hello, HP laptop model 15-EU0005NA. It does not turn on, 1 in 100 manages to turn it on then after a while it freezes/disappears/flashes, etc.

After removing the motherboard and connecting the board with RAM to the power supply, I noticed that at first all voltages start correctly and after a few seconds 3.3V on the PL4501 coil disappears and somewhere in this area something starts beeping on the board, sometimes after touching it with a finger in the area of PL4551 it stops beeping and 3.3V appears again.

Original HP 150W power supply, the diode in the power socket lights...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Hello all. I would like some help on installing a firmware on tv..
4 days ago i changed a channel and the image became complete blue and the tv unresponsive. No matter what i did ( like unplugging the power , press the power button for minutes etc etc nothing helped) Then i had an idea to flash it via usb. The brand is very uncommon (smarttech) so i had hard time finding the right firmware. i ended downloading 2 just in case. I flashed the first one with usb and pressing the power button like 5 times. The installation was successful and tv worked ok with some little problems that right...
