Switch the ribbon cables running from tcon to the panel. If the other half of screen starts working it is the ribbon cable. Go into menu to see more of the screen lit with an image.

Blow air onto the main board. Move the airflow to different spots on the board where the square ICs are located. If the picture comes back you need to add a cooling fan. I suspect the gamma chip is going and is getting hot.Leave a comment:

Not yet. i plugged a usb drive into the tv. I then plugged in the power cord, the usb drive blinked once. So maybe the tv looked for firmware, maybe it was just the usb port powering the drive for a split second.Leave a comment:

My lt-52246 has a reset button next to the power button on the tv. if not you need to check voltage outputs of the power board(brown one) the each voltage regulator on the main board.Leave a comment:

Sanyo dp42d24 will not turn on
I have a Sanyo dp42d24 that when I press the power button nothing happens. I checked for power at each of the voltage regulators(4) and got all the correct outputs (1.15,1.8,3.3 and 5v). I also got 12v on audio and 40v on the two led outputs from the board. I checked the power leg of the bios chip and got 3.3 volts. The connector pin on the board where the power button connects goes from 5v to 0 when depressed. The led light never goes on. Can someone please provide me with the firmware? I would also like any advice on what to try next.

When it goes black blow air on to the tcon board. Make sure the air reaches the board not just the metal case. If the picture comes back you need to add venting to the board. I would remove the tape and drill holes in the metal casing. Drill the holes when you remove the metal casing from the tcon board. I was not sure in your post if the backlights are off.Leave a comment:

Mitsubishi LT-52246 TCON
I was fixing a tab bond problem on the TV's left most tab. I screwed up and the frame touched the thin circuit board that the tab bonds connect to.
The tv now has audio and the screen is all blue gray. I have taken readings from all the test points on the tcon. Here they are:
vddb 2.23, vr 0.0, vcc12 1.53, vref stl 0.93, vref mo 1.08, vddmq 2.15, vddqq 2.15, vonp 0.0, von 0.0, kb 0.1, trd 0.1, dig12 mini12 vdd12 1.51, vcc 2.04, voff 0.0, vcc33 2.21, temp 1.83, vcc25 2.19, vin 12.13, avdd 0.0, sda scl wp 2.04. I am looking for advice on what to do next.... -

I checked all the caps on the power board with an esr meter. They all tested good. I checked the output voltages on ac volts looking for oscillation and got a maximum of 0.08 VAC. I reflowed a few chips and nothing changed. The only thing I see is that the 12v coming off the power board is at 11.83v.Leave a comment:

Vizio m550vse stuck on with V on screen
When turned on the V appears on the screen and can not be turned off with remote or button on tv. I have powered off the tv, left it unplugged overnight. I opened up the tv and the power board has the correct voltages. I then read the posts on testing voltage regulators and tested mine. They are all fixed voltage, LD1117ag. The 3.3v ones read 3.26v and 3.27. The 1.2v ones now read 1.16 and 1.17. They did read 1.12 the day before. I did an experiment. I attached an ethernet cable and tried to power up the tv. I attached the tv to a power strip. I toggled the power strip on and off twice in the... -
I noticed your post about a 46d64u TV. I have the same tv and cannot get the panel off. I removed the silver screws from the metal frame. The 4 corners dont move. Can you tell me how you got the panel off and exposed the ccfls? Thanks Ira -
I saw your reply to "Re: Sharp Aquos LC-46D64U Help ". I cant seem to get the panel off. The corners seem stuck to the metal case holding the ccfls. I unscrewed all the silver screws from the front. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks Ira -
