    Samsung UN75F6300

    Hi all,

I have a Samsung UN75F6300 tv that will be 3 years old in February. For the last couple of weeks when I go to turn it on after its been off for a while it goes thru a cycle of turning on and off on its own for a period of time. It will turn on, get to the initial power on screen, then turn back off and repeat this over and over until it finally turns on and stays on. At first it would do this for 30 seconds to a minute. Lately it's been doing it for around 10 minutes before it will finally stay on. Once it's on it will stay on though. So in the meantime I've resorted to just leaving it on all the time with no picture in the screen while I'm not watching anything.

I emailed Samsung and they gave me several things to try. Plugging it straight into a wall outlet, disconnecting everything from the tv and trying, turning off certain features, resetting the tv to factory defaults, and upgrading the firmware to latest which I'm already on. None of this has worked. I've read about capacitors going bad in these TV's on the power supply boards. I pulled the back cover off and inspected the power supply/led board. I could find visually nothing wrong with any components on the board. No bulging or leaky caps or any other component that looked suspect.

Can I maybe get some guidance on this. I do see complete power supply boards available from a few places. Would it even be the power supply board or could it be something else? Any suggestions for troubleshooting at the component level? I am handy with a multimeter and comfortable with a soldering iron. Any help would be appreciated!

The Samsung part number for the power supply /led board is BN44-00621C

I am not sure if bad LED in your TV will cause POWER CYCLING or not, you will have to test and report the DCV reading on the power supply board connectors, put the pin down the pin name and follow by the DCV reading.

Take a look at the connector from the Power Supply to the Main Board at the Power Supply side. Pull out that connector and look for arcing between two pins(dark rust look). It might have effected the cable side too. We maintain the Tv's in a sports bar that has 10 of these beast and found this problem on a couple of them already. I will include some pics as examples. We order the cable and replace the burnt connector at the Power Supply from a old board instead of replacing the Power Supply. This will cause a intermittent shutdown from the arcing.

That means the connector has bad contact resistance and causes the PIN/SOCKET to heat up like that.

I'm having the same or similar issue. TV turns on briefly for about 1 second then clicks and turns off. Keeps cycling this way. Did you find the problem? Looking for some guidance on how to move forward with possible repair. Thanks.
