    Samsung LA26R71BA cannot power up

    Hi,

I have a Samsung LA26R71BA that cannot power up. When I press the power button on the remote, a red light on the TV lights up and then off.

Where should I start to check?

    Thanks.
    John

Re: Samsung LA26R71BA cannot power up

So are you saying you are not getting DCV output at all, not even the standby DCV output?
Did you check all the fuses?
I also see bad brown glues that must be removed.
There are also lots of threads for this BN44-00192A, just search the B.C. forum for them.

The fuses are all checked and ok. There is 5v on the standby pin. All other pins has 0 volt.

Which are the components I should check on the power board?

The voltages I got from QM801:
Pin 1 to negative of big cap is 340v
        Pin 2 is 0.5v
        Pin 3 is 0.5v

        And for QM802:
Pin 1 to negative of big cap is 0.5v
        Pin 2 is 0v
        Pin 3 is 0v

Does it means QM802 is faulty?

          Sorry, wrong pin number.

          It should be this:
The voltages I got from QM801:
Pin 1 to negative of big cap is 0.5v
          Pin 2 is 340v

          And for QM802:
Pin 1 to negative of big cap is 0v
          Pin 2 is 0.5v
          Pin 3 is 0v

Does it means QM802 is faulty?

Re: Samsung LA26R71BA cannot power up

I swap QM801 with QM802. There is still 340vdc at pin2 of QM801. So both IC are ok.

Before the swap, there is no red standby light. After the swap, the red standby light turns on.

            I attach the schematic.

            Any help?

Do you have 5.2V standby and if you have what voltages do you have on the pins of ICM801

So is the PS-ON present? Since you are getting only around 340VDC it is telling me that the PFC Boosted Voltage is not working otherwise you would have about 380~400VDC between the two legs of the main filter cap, so it is either the PS-ON is not present or the PFC is not working.

If you disconnect the main board and connect PS_ON to 5.2V DC using a 1K resistor, do your other voltages come up ie +12V, +13V, +24V, +5.3V as on connector CNM801

With your meter set to dc volts can you check what voltage you have between pin 6 (black probe) & pin 8 (red probe) on ICP801S when 5.2V is connected to ON/OFF with main board still disconnected.

I blown the fuse FP801S. Got to wait for a few days for the new fuse.

                                Please bear with me.

Using a 1K from 5V standby to Power ON/Off, can you check the dc voltage across resistor RB805 and also RB807 and then with the 1K removed. Test with mainboard disconnected from supply.

I cannot do any testing because the fuse FP801A keeps blowing. As soon as i switch on the power, the fuse will blow instantly.

This only started when i started to probe ICP801S. Now pin 6 and 7 are shorted. Is this normal ?

you may need to replace that icp8o1s (remove the ic and test again for shorts on those pins once removed from the pcb) also consider building a dim bulb tester as it will save you blowing more fuses/parts.

It's probably the IC but check DZP801 to see if that is short circuited which would also put a short across Pin6 & 7

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power

                                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

                                          Hi

Picked up another TV. Samsung UN43NU6950FXZA. No power and no standBy led on. Removed back cover and:
                                          Main fuse = OK
Back light LED = OK. Power them with aux power source
                                          LED output = OK 156V
I do get 12 V DC out of the power supply going to the digital section but no 5V or 3.3V. PS_on voltage is only 1.8V. I have looked everywhere on the PCB , I could not find i reference for 5V output.
Also removed connections to panel, speakers and remote but no luck. One strange thing is that even with the LED power supply working, backlight LED do not turn on...

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here

My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.

Since a few days, the TV won't turn...
