    M55-C2 Inverted picture.

Hello this is my 1st post to this forum so bear with me.

I have a Vizio M55-C2 that I originally received as dead. It had received a surge thru the HDMI port.
I replaced the Digital main BD and set worked great but the picture and menu's are upside down.
I originally thought setting in the service menu but none of the procedures for entering the service menu posted on this forum will work on this set.
I have never experienced this before but other post suggested T-con board so I gave this a try. Still upside down.
I returned my digital board suspecting corrupted eeprom and order new one and new board also has inverted picture and menus.
I am back to square one trying to enter service menu. Does anyone have any experience with this model set?

These are the procedures I have tried.
    1. Turn The TV off.
    2. Press and hold the {CH +} & {CH -} buttons on the TV.
    3. Then press and release the {POWER} button on the TV.
    4. Release the {CH +} & {CH -} buttons.
    5. Now press the {MENU} button on the remote.
    6. You should get your regular menu up, but with a "F" in the bottom right corner of the menu (This is for factory).
    7. Press and hold the {MENU} button for few seconds.
    8. The Service Menu will be displayed.
    Vizio Service Menu Method 2

    5. Now press the {MENU} button on the remote.
    6. You should get your regular menu up, but with a "F" in the bottom right corner of the menu (This is for factory).
    7. Press and hold the {MENU} button for few seconds.
    8. The Service Menu will be displayed.
    Vizio Service Menu Method 3
    1. Press and hold the {EXIT} button on the remote for 3 seconds then release it.
    2. Then press the {1} {2} {3} buttons on the remote.
    3. To exit, press the {EXIT} button.

You can not download firmware for these sets. But it automaticly installed the latest firmware last night.

These sets will only automaticly install firmware when the set is off and connected to the internet. There is no option to manually install firmware nor does Vizio offer it on there web site.

Not sure if you set has this feature. Go into Service Mode and see if there is a 'control' option which would take you to the 'configure' option then to the 'HV Fli' option....If it is OFF turn it ON and if is ON turn it OFF.

We need to figure out how to get into service mode on this set first. But yes that is the setting I am looking for.

            Thanks

              Re: M55-C2 Inverted picture.

I know the answer to this. Some of these TVs come with an AUO panel, and some with a Samsung panel. The panels are mounted/driven in opposite 180 degree configurations. So if your TV originally had an AUO panel and you replaced your motherboard (marked as "MB" on the ribbon cable) with one from a Samsung panel, the picture will be upside down because the motherboard expects a Samsung panel (rotated orientation). I suspect there's a jumper or resistor on the motherboard somewhere that tells the firmware what panel is connected and what the picture orientation should be, but I don't know where it is or if it even exists. If it helps, the AUO version of the M55-C2 motherboard has a heatpipe and supplemental heatsink whereas the Samsung version does not (if you try to find a proper replacement). The AUO/Samsung LCD driver boards are not interchangeable, as the ribbon cables have a different number of conductors/wires. There may also be other hardware revisions I'm unaware of. Hopefully this helps someone working on these TVs!

So did it correct the upside-down image?
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

think of it this way, if it is wall mounted high enough, then you can't see the stand hole, so it is aesthetically pleasing.
WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

Well you can always put a flower pot with a plant to cover the stand hole.

Not sure if some of the information above is accurate. I have M55-C2 with AUO screen and and main board "without" heat pipe. Although I am not the first owner I doubt the screen or mainboard was ever replaced. My TV serial number starts with LWZASBBR. Based on shopjimmy web site TVs with serial number starting with LWZASBBR use main board without pipe (that's also what I have). TVs with serial number LWZASBAR use main boards with heat pipe. Perhaps Lsserblast got these two mixed up..
My tv has black screen and standby light blinks 15 times. Does anyone has any tip besides replacing the main board? Does anyone know what 15 blinks mean? Anyone repaired it on component level? Thanks.

I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. I haven't powered it on beforehand so these should be the last ones. I did try to get internal access immediately after but kept getting scopen response...

the color is all outa wack, like the settings have been corupted,
I've already done a firmware search using the wifi connection update from the tv and it didn't find any new update so it's got the most recent version.

                                  so
The issue is i can't get into service mode or factory mode, tried resetiing it from user mode and it didn't change anything.
when i bring up the menu and type the pass codes to access either mode the menu disappears...
