Samsung UE46D6500 black screen no sound.

Hi,

I have a Samsung UE46D6500 that "doesn't boot"(?)..
First of all, when I unplug main board from power board, back light lights up. Not sure, but I think this eliminates power issues..
With all connected TV powers on and off and LED blinks pressing sound channel menu etc, either by dashboard or remote.. But it's always black screen (backlights won't turn on) and i ear no sound...
I took a look over the boards and all I see is heating marks on the board near the DNie CPU.

Can you help please? Also, if someone has schematics or service manual I'd appreciate it.

Pictures of the board? What DCV testing did you do so far as far as the Voltages and the Command signal Voltages?
We need more details and pictures.

Here are some pics of the board. While taking pics I noticed some components might have been removed from main board. This wasn't noticeable at first glance I took, sorry. Tampered solder also in fotos.
I didn't took voltages because I didn't find any voltage test points on main board, only on power.

IC1401, IC1205, C751_DS and D704_DS seem to be missing..

What is the board P/N? BN44-??????
What DCV do you get on pin 12 (BLU ON/OFF), pin 20 (POWER ON/OFF)?
So someone try to fix this TV before you?

I assume you bought this tv with this defect?

There are parts missing on the mainboard so it had a failure BEFORE someone removed the parts. Probably BGA chip failure and he heated the board.

Wanna fix the tv? Buy a new mainboard and add extra cooling/heatsink plaster and it should be good to go.

Apparently yes, I bought it to learn, try to fix it and get a "new" TV.
I might need to buy another main board, right?

Yep, new main board needed.

Thanks for the replies. I already saw this replacement on ebay but it's missing one RF input when compared to mine.. Almost all of them are! Will this matter?

Its a mainboard for a different model. You need to look for the exact part number on the board.

It might work but i Always go for the exact same board. the back cover might not even fit because of the connectors.

Bn41-01587e is the blank PCB as printed with white silk screen, blank board is REV E in this case.
The PCBA as printed on the barcode sticker is BN94-05482W.
Blank PCB can be stuffed hundreds ways to make a bunch of PCBAs for certain model of TVs required.

I hope that who ever worked on this TV before you did not put the board from other model that uses the same PCB into this chassis.

As BUDM says. Also on ebay link it says 46inch model from the D6510 series.

These boards are in more models but have either a extra USB/HDMI or misses the VGA connector etc. Also firmware is most of the times different.

I've found a working UE46D6530 with broken LCD for parts.
Do you guys think it's possible to get this TV and replace all boards to Get mine working?

You could try and see if it works. Again its a newer model but it might work.
