    Vizio VX37L HDTV10A no picture

    Hello,
I was given a Vizio VX37L HDTV10A that has no picture (not sure about sound - they do not remember if the sound was working when it went bad). When plugged in the VISIO LED on the front lights up orange. When the power button is pushed the VISIO LED turns white. The screen backlight does not come on. Before the power button is pushed, the voltages on connection J1 (Main Board to Power Board) on the Main Board are as follows:
    Pin 1 = 0v ("POWRSW")
    Pin 2 = 0v ("+12V")
    Pin 3 = 0v ("+12V")
    Pin 4 = 0v ("+12V")
    Pin 5 = 0v ("+12V")
    Pin 6 = 0v ("GND")
    Pin 7 = 0v ("GND")
    Pin 8 = 0v ("GND")
    Pin 9 = +5v ("+5V")
    Pin 10 = +5v ("+5V")
    Pin 11 = +5v ("+5V")
    Pin 12 = 0v ("PWM")
    Pin 13 = 0v ("BL ON/OFF")

After the power button is pushed, the voltages on connection J1 (Main Board to Power Board) on the Main Board are as follows:
    Pin 1 = +3.6v ("POWRSW")
    Pin 2 = +12v ("+12V")
    Pin 3 = +12v ("+12V")
    Pin 4 = +12v ("+12V")
    Pin 5 = +12v ("+12V")
    Pin 6 = 0v ("GND")
    Pin 7 = 0v ("GND")
    Pin 8 = 0v ("GND")
    Pin 9 = +5v ("+5V")
    Pin 10 = +5v ("+5V")
    Pin 11 = +5v ("+5V")
    Pin 12 = +3.6v ("PWM")
    Pin 13 = 0v ("BL ON/OFF")

All the voltages are what they should be, except for Pin 13 ("BL ON/OFF"). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to where to check next.
Thanks in advance for your help.

'Pin 13 = 0v ("BL ON/OFF")' The main board is not sending the command ON signal to turn on the backlights circuit.
Start searching Badcaps thread for 'Vizio VX37L HDTV10A'.
Read how to test Voltage regulators on the main board.

Check the two fuses on the main board. (top right center)
If they are good, check voltages on the fuses with TV "on".
Then on to the voltage regulators.

'U7 3.3v 1.1v 0v' That is bad, min output of 1117 is 1.25V, it cannot be less than the Reference Voltage which is 1.25V.
Numbers as printed on the U7?

                          Thanks for the links dick_barton.
However, that jpg and pdf are not for my VX37L HDTV10A.
My main board does not have a J7 connection.

Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

Vizio m65-c1 picture flashing on and off on the screen

                                    HI all,
hope someone point to the possible issue before I start buying replacement parts.
Tv starts normal and responds to remote fine, PSU voltages mesured fine 19v was 18.9V under load and 19V with main board disconnected.
Backlight stays on all the time,
                                    Sound works fine.
screen keeps changing form black to full picture in about 1sec intervals.
Picture looks fine with no visible artifacts.
I have disconnected backlights and flashlight test confirmed that picture is still doing the same.

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON

                                    Hi,
                                    I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
                                    Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...
