    Ok thanks
If I was to get the boards from ebay or payless I need to match the board numbers and suffix don't I.

Sure but from what I see there is only one version of the C boards going on TNPA4892 & 4893.

Don't be concerned if for example you see TXNC11EQUU on the white sticker or TXNC211UBU42 etc.

Yeah I understand they are the actual part number not the board number right? So my next question was is there a big difference between the TH-p42x10z and TC-p42x10 which seem to be what most these boards are from.

Don't know exactly but panel wise no, so all the boards that drive the panel would be fine.

The mainboard is where things get different and unique especially for us in our region.

              Hi lambchopsnz & tw2005
I have this same model Plasma, but with a different fault. Not sure if you are still working on yours lambchopsnz, but am open to taking measurements or sending you a board to help diagnose if this helps. Mine doesn't have a flashing LED code, but does have a display issue. The image doesn't seem to get overwritten/reset completely and previous parts of images show through dependent on the images/colours at the time.
Hopefully this partial screen shot gives a bit of an idea of the issue.
Not sure if this would rule it out from trying to help.

              Kind regards
              Russell
ps I am new to plasmas and also don't have a remote for the TV.

Hi nzlamont yes I'm still working on this tv I have tried all boards now except the C boards which I'm waiting on now. This is the first plasma I have tried to fix also,tw2005 has been an awesome help he may be able to give you some more advice on your tv problem. I can give you the number of a guy on trademe if you need boards. Awesome guy to deal with he has let me try boards and send them back again when ruled out but I suggest you wait for tw2005 or some of these others advice on weather they think it's a screen problem or board fault...send me an email if you want some test point info or that guys number. Just waiting on my boards and I will keep you updated.
                Cheers Nick

                  Hi Nick
Thanks for the info and offer. Is it Platinum-TV on Trademe that you have been dealing with?
I've found this thread really useful (thanks tw2005), downloaded the service manual attachments and taken a number of measurements previously recommended.

I've used the composite video input to try out various colour screens. Generally the borders seem to have close to correct colouring and the middle incorrect.

Hi nzlamont, yes platinumtv is the one on trademe awesome guy he actually only sells tv parts but dosent know anything about the problems lol however if you need a sd su or the sc boards i will have them for sale if it turns out its the C boards that fix the problem on mine, im still waiting for them.
So have you found out if your fault is a board problem or screen issue.
                    Anyone answered that yet?
also if you have a smart phone you can use it as a remote with the right app.
                    cheers

so its more a board problem and probably fixable rather than a screen issue. I thought that is what i had read in few different places but as i am learning these tvs are not always easy to guess the right fix lol

                          Thanks for both your inputs.
Just in case it has some further relevance, the panel Vsus is labeled at 187V & Ve 125V. I measure 188v for Vsus but when the sound and picture kick in it drops to 169V. I don't have a scope to see what the waveform is like. The others (Ve, Vset, Vad, Vscn) don't change significantly, but Vda drops from 60.2V to 56.2V. These were measured with a Freeview HD signal running, rather than white screen.
Am happy to get the SS board and give it a try it is TNPA4774AE and also there looks to be a small board SS2 Sustain out (Lower).

                          Kind regards

I'd be surprised if there is anything on ss2 board. You'd think if Vsus dropped 20v the tv would trigger a sos. Is it a good meter?

Ok after waiting nearly a month for my c1 and c2 boards to turn up,they finally turned up today and i installed them and.... what do you know I have the same 6 blinks i have had all along So now i have replaced the SS,SU,SD,SC,C1,C2 boards and i have also tried a different A board...all with the same result. Please dont tell me its the screen stuffed..
I guess the question is what can i do from here I really didn't want to fail on this.

pretty much everything except the power board. I'm out of ideas. If all those board were good that could only leave bad connections on the cables or ribbons but I've already mentioned that before.

can't see it being screen as I'd expect 7 blinks and damaged buffers not a 6 blink.

Well i was starting to wonder about the power supply myself. If the power cord is plugged in but tv not turned on should i have a standby voltage somewhere?
When you push the power button on the tv the relay clicks and few seconds clicks again which is when it starts the led flashing.
I did try a different A board before the c boards arrived and i got random flash codes like 12 or 13 cant remember exactly. So With my test results you said the tp sos6 was high on the sc board the question is what can i test on the power board to narrow it down or is it another replacement board.. that would leave me with the two button boards and speakers i believe lol other than the screen.

I doubt it's power board, you already measure Vsus matching the sticker

Well that is a bugger the thing is with every board change i have had the same result 6 blinks i also still got the 8 blinks when unplugging the sc20 cable with the new c boards.I didnt see anything obvious on the ribbon cables to the c boards. I dont actually know when the 6 blinks happened but i believe the tv was working one night and the next time turned on had 6 blinks.
