Hello all.
I am working on this TV and have been trying to figure out why I have no picture but the sound is fine. The back lights are working, so I decided to to the front bezel off to take a look at the boards that are affixed to the panel (not sure what these are called, but it would be nice to know). Anyway after taking a look at these boards it appears that it has some corrosion of sort or a few burnt chips? I need to find out what these are and values to see if I can get replacement ones. I am not even sure how many are suppose to be there. Upon arrival of this unit I heard something loose inside but never seen anything fall out when removing the back of the set. They are very small. I did try to clean one on the right side and it basically completely crumbled. I will try to get the best pics I can, and am just hoping to find a schematic or values and number of whatever these are and try to get replacements. I would hate to part this out for a few dollars in bad parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jamie Sikora.

Those are the tab bonding boards, by any chance the boards are on the bottom edge of the screen? They cannot be easily replaced. You need to clean off the corrosion first, it looks like someone spray the cleaning the liquid on the screen and the liquid got to the boards.

Yep they are on the bottom and that makes complete sense now. Would probably be the #1 not to use glass cleaner on these. I would guess I could get some electronics cleaner spray and get off the corrosion, but then I would need to figure out how many and of what is needed to fix. Can't find a schematic anywhere and of coarse Samsung nor J&J will supply that information. Any suggestions on how to obtain. Thanks for the reply.

You are not going to find the diagram for that board.
The cleaner should be sprayed on the cloth just enough to damp it, never spray the cleaner directly on the screen.

So about the only thing I could do would be to buy tab bond boards from someone parting out the same TV with a broken screen and desolder those components and resolder them to this one then? You don't think that the diagram would even be in the service manual for this TV then?

maybe measure the parts if ok that are in the same position on the other end of the board and replace them on the bad side you have nothing to loose by trying

Ya that would work but unfortunately it looks like it is bad at the exact same spot on both sides. Imagine that. That's almost enough to make me think it is a manufacture defect and not that it got wet at all.

So there is no way to contact whoever makes the tab bond boards for Samsung and see if I can get the correct values for the parts that need replaced?
