  • Re: Emerson LF501EM5F No Power

Where is this repair kit from? I might just order it, unless there is a good starting point as to what to test first. Thanks.

I may be getting something, but not much like 1-2V at several spots on here....

Yes nothing at all. I did change the 2.5 a fuse right where power comes in just to be sure it was good. But I am getting 170V from the 2 main capacitors....

Checked for voltages on these that were marked differently on this board, but I am getting no voltages at all. Also I do not get a blue or red light at all on the front of the TV and the Power button does not seem to be working either....

C1621 and C605 I am getting 169V. R614 130.6V R626 1.4V by PFC_GND, and the other side is 53.1V . Would this be where my problem is? Have not gotten to ic601 yet. Thanks for the reply

  • Emerson LF501EM5F No Power

Just picked this up today. I have no Power at all. The main fuse at the power connector tests good. Really just trying to get an idea of where I should start to test from here. All the Caps look good, can't find any resistors or diodes that look burnt top or bottom of the board. I was told that it went out during a thunderstorm. That is why I was thinking I would see something burnt up and have an easy fix. Any help, tips or pointers on where to begin or anyone know what values are where would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

So there is no way to contact whoever makes the tab bond boards for Samsung and see if I can get the correct values for the parts that need replaced?

Ya that would work but unfortunately it looks like it is bad at the exact same spot on both sides. Imagine that. That's almost enough to make me think it is a manufacture defect and not that it got wet at all.

So about the only thing I could do would be to buy tab bond boards from someone parting out the same TV with a broken screen and desolder those components and resolder them to this one then? You don't think that the diagram would even be in the service manual for this TV then?

I know not to, but I assume that the Lady who's TV it is didn't.

Yep they are on the bottom and that makes complete sense now. Would probably be the #1 not to use glass cleaner on these. I would guess I could get some electronics cleaner spray and get off the corrosion, but then I would need to figure out how many and of what is needed to fix. Can't find a schematic anywhere and of coarse Samsung nor J&J will supply that information. Any suggestions on how to obtain. Thanks for the reply.

    Hello all.
I am working on this TV and have been trying to figure out why I have no picture but the sound is fine. The back lights are working, so I decided to to the front bezel off to take a look at the boards that are affixed to the panel (not sure what these are called, but it would be nice to know). Anyway after taking a look at these boards it appears that it has some corrosion of sort or a few burnt chips? I need to find out what these are and values to see if I can get replacement ones. I am not even sure how many are suppose to be there. Upon arrival of this unit I heard something...

  • Re: Westinghouse DWM50F3G1

Just wanted to reply to this post and see if anyone has any ideas. I have tried 2 different PS and both are putting out 24.6V to each led set. I know the voltage is wrong but any ideas why both would put out the same? Trying to find someone else who has had the same problem with this as it has to be common. Thanks.

I did notice this after pulling the power supply out. On the plastic shield on the bottom it looks as though something got real hot underneath C9F and C8f. I will attach pictures and if anyone has an idea of where to go from here please let me know. Thanks...

Caps EC20 and 21 are both 100uf 100v. I found these Q15, IC3, startup/running caps EC2, EC3. and the rectifier, but not sure how to check those with a meter. About the only thing I am good at with a meter is checking voltage and continuity. I did try heating it. EC5 I did have voltage there when I checked before but after I put a little heat in that area I have nothing and also now the voltages on the LED output are all over the place. Anywhere from 25v all the way to almost 200v. It was not doing that before that I noticed anyway , but I was not holding...

Will not light up connecting only one set. Also when checking voltage with all disconnected I am getting the same 24.6V after it comes on and is a volt or two lower for a short time (I assume that would be the log screen trying to come on).

    There is a total of 5 strips with 12 LED's on each. I check the voltage at the beginning of the strip and get 24.6 then after each led 22.6, 20.5, 18.4, 16.3, 14.0, 12.0, 10.0, 8.1, 6.0, 4.1, 2.0, 0.00

Hello all. I am new to the site and am trying to get some help. I am working on the above TV. I am getting the blue power light to come on when turning it on, but not getting the led's to come on. So far I have tried different PS and Main. Also have another set of lights. I am trying to figure out what the LED output voltage should be coming off of the PS. I'm getting 24.6V on the positive output but the strip has 12 LED's so I would think I should be getting 36V, or am I wrong. I was assuming they were all 3V led's or are some using 2V? Anyway when I check voltage after each led on the strip...
