    Another Olevia 242-t11 Happy Ending!

Dumpster-dove an Olevia 242-t11 the other day... my second in a couple months, oddly-enough. Deader'n the proverbial doorknob.

Opened it up and the PS caps on the secondary side looked a tad bulged, but not real bad. Figuring what-the-heck it's wortha try, I'll replace them.

    Whoopie!! TV works great now!

Thanks to everyone and this site for guidance and suggestions !!

Bummer, didn't think to take any before-hand as I wasn't sure I was on the right track. And didn't take any afterwards because......
      ... well, because I forgot.

Just dug thru the trash to see if the old caps are still in there and I could photo them, but wife seems to be efficient at the oddest times.

Oh, and thanks for your help in the past with my other repairs, RB123

Sony RB2G Chassis KDL-55W815B MAIN BOARD 2 Blink Error issue resolved! Happy days :)
            by cheeky2
For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...

Disposable e-cigarettes, lithium pollution and why you should be happy and exploit it
            by Th3_uN1Qu3
I know, this comes in late, Big Clive did a video on them a couple years ago, but it is just last year that the disposables market has exploded here and I literally only have to walk for 5 minutes to find at least one.

On one hand, 5 of the cheapest disposables will buy you a basic pod vape which is 100x better and the replacement pods are half the price of a disposable once you burn the heater, but on the other, they are getting better (I'm starting to see better builds, ends that don't just fall off but are actually quite stubbornly fit and 550mAh instead of 300mAh batteries on...

            Hi,
I have HP 400 G6 DM which is not booting - it will spin up for like 30 seconds, then turn off for a few, boot again... and it goes on forever.
Can anyone check this dump and maybe attempt to repair it?

Just a happy ending to this issue & thread... https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=104086

The laptop had BIOS 210 on it, I updated it to 303, and the black screen upon restart is fixed!! The seat of my pants from the original post just felt it was a firmware issue....it's now cured, and also learned the true make of this goofy laptop.

It's always great when I can ask my own forum for assistance, you fellas are the best!

I also attached the BIOS v303 to this thread incase anyone down the road runs into this....since the 'technopat'...
