Moving LCD Panels

I have been moving around LCD panels by keeping them vertical. However, this gets to be a problem when reassembling them into TVs after replacing either LEDs or CCFL tubes. I would like to know what others are using to prevent damage to the LCDs in disassembly and reassembly.

I was thinking of getting two of these suction cup lifters from my local HF. The end to end dimension is approximately 12". Does anyone have better solutions?

Someone may have experience with those suction things and LCDs, but I would have thought it would be a risk they may apply enough suction that they break the thin LCD glass.

Might be able to get something like that with "weak" suction that would work well though?

I leave them in the plastic frame with some tape from the frame to the panel to stop the screen falling out

I use a sheet of thick brown rapping paper (I have a roll 48" wide) , and slide this under the panel from the end without the tabs, then with a second pair of hands lift away like you would with a person on a blanket.the paper supports the screen and refitting it is just the reverse. I have with help used this for screen sizes up to 70" with no problems. I hope this is of help to you Flocko
