The device came in with no power: 20V and 0A. I took it apart and it now gets 20V and 0.60A.
All main power rails are present: 3V, 5V, and BIOS 1.8V. When spamming the power button, the CPU core voltages come on for a few seconds and then turn off.
I suspect the BIOS is corrupt. Could someone check if it is possible to reconstruct the firmware or confirm whether it is corrupt, please?

ASUS ROG Strix B660-I Gaming WiFi – BIOS dump vs ASUS CAP size mismatch, need corruption check, please.
I’m troubleshooting an ASUS ROG Strix B660-I Gaming WiFi motherboard and I’m a bit stuck at the BIOS level. What I’ve tried so far- Attempted to flash the BIOS using the USB BIOS FlashBack (Q-Flash) port with a properly formatted FAT32 USB drive.
- BIOS file downloaded directly from the official ASUS support page.
- Followed the exact FlashBack procedure (correct port, renamed file, standby power only).
Issue:
The FlashBack LED does not blink at all — no activity whatsoever. Further investigation
Because FlashBack didn’t work, I:- Removed the BIOS SPI IC from

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 1 20RL000VUK
Hi everyone.
I got this Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 1 20RL000VUK from a customer that stated that his son was playing with BIOS settings and now it wont turn on. I guess the customer son was trying to update BIOS via windows and it shutdown while updating and it bricked this device.
I've tried to find the BIOS firmware everywhere and nothing is available.
Can anyone here help me to check if the firmware is corrupted and has a bios firmware for this model, please?
It does not turn on, but when plug the charger the fan goes full speed and power button blinks 3 times. Sometimes... -
PS5 EDM-010 - Intermittently Power
Hi everyone,
I received this PS5 for repair, and it’s been quite difficult to diagnose.
It beeps once and turns off. The power draw goes up to 100W, then drops back to 0.20W. However, if I keep trying to power it on, it eventually turns on and stays on. I can play games without any issues.
Once it's turned on, I can shut down and power back on normally.
But if I leave it off for an hour or so, it starts beeping again and shuts down—back to square one.
I couldn't find any shorts on the board.

14" MacBook LCDs - has Apple re-introduced a new serialisation type?
Hi all,
Since about a month or two ago, we've observed a new type of 'serialisation' on the LCDs and we're just curious whether anyone has seen this- New LCDs straight from the factory (not programmed)- if the Mac is restarted or switched on from a cold boot, you must close the lid, then open it again (so two cycles of opening and closing the screen) in order to get display.
- Transplant the IC onto another screen:
- If the model and revision match exactly then it will perform as normal
- If the manufacturer matches exactly BUT its a different revision, the colours are mostly in
-
Update - The M3 A3113 has two mechanisms to determine lid position, the lid angle sensor AND a hall effect sensor.
There is a hall effect sensor built into the keyboard backlight cable. In my case it was sending voltage to UR300 correctly depending on whether i was putting a magnet there or not, but I was getting no change in output on pin 8, which stayed at 1.7V.
I replaced UR300 with one from an M2 Air, now the Mac correctly detects whether the lid is open or closed. However, still no keyboard at all....Leave a comment:

A3113 corrosion to LAS = No keyboard, yet screen and trackpad work fine
Hi All.
I have a A3113 MacBook Air 13" (M3) that had minor liquid damage. The screen remains on if the lid is closed, the keyboard doesn't work, but trackpad and Touch ID does.
The LAS was corroded, but I have tested it on an A2681 (M2) and it functions fine. Anyway, I ordered a new one and replaced it and calibrated it with Apple.
I have checked the main voltages going to the daughterboard and they are present. Diode mode reading on the LAS line which goes direct to the SoC is also correct, no short.
So then I replaced the daughterboard, and... -

Dell Alienware x17 R1 - Keyboard not working
Symptoms:
No keys work apart from F1, F7, F12 function keys such as keyboard brightness, touchpad enable/disable.
Keyboard RGB works okay and might be adjustable.
VERY occasionally it may function but most of the time it is dead.
The fault is down to the USB data lines not going low when the bus is idle. The keyboard connects over USB, so the issue on the USB data bus causes it to stop functioning.
The fix is to fit a 1K resistor to the daughterboard that the keyboard + trackpad connect to. The daughterboard is located beneath the battery. The resistor...
