Good evening- I have a TV that suddenly will not power on. Emerson LF401EM5. I have done quite a bit of internet research on the issue to no avail, so I turn to you all for guidance. The TV was purchased about 10 months ago and we don't have reciept (only "proof" of purchase on bank statement unfortunately).
Essentially, I have red standby light on when the TV is plugged in. The remote power button nor the button on the TV will power on the TV.
That red light does not flash. It also stays on about 10 seconds after unplugged, if that information is helpful.
I took the panel off to inspect the board with my limited knowledge. I didn't see any "raised/poofy" transistors nor anything that looked out of ordinary. I also didn't see a fuse at all- I noticed many people online seem to fix their TV power issues by replacing fuses. Maybe some don't have them?
I own a multimeter but have zero experience or tools soldering.
I researched issues where many people had flashing red lights or beeping noises, but exactly doesn't fit my problem description.
Essentially, I want to know how much a repair would cost and if it is economically wise to do so. I paid about $200 for this TV set, but still- it was only a little under a year ago...so I'd like to revive if possible.
Thank you all in advance!
