This is a simple device to make.
Anyway, after the device is on for a couple of minutes, it seems to produce sufficient heat. We are starting to believe the fan is not spinning fast enough now. She said normally the air is blowing out more where the boots go. Can a fan have reduced speed? There are no noises or anything coming from it and it seems to spin freely....

What is this component on our boot dryer?
Can anyone tell me what this component is with the green end? It is hooked to what looks like a bunch of coils on our boot dryer/glove dryer. The device doesnt seem to heat boots anymore. The fan still spins. The coils seem to get warm but should they get red hot? How do i test this component and how do i find out the value of it?...

Which tactile switch is this?
It has an "S" and "32" on the back of it. I pulled it from my vhf mic and it's testing bad. I dont know which new one to purchase because i don't know what to go off of. Can anyone tell me how to find the type and size of it?...

These are the exact areas i first covered with a magnifying glass. I fluxed all of the pins and just heated them with a soldering iron. Maybe i didnt go over them correctly. Any tips for me? Afterwards i checked for shorts and didnt see any....

LG 42LC7D no HDMI
This old tv had the caps replaced. It turns on and runs fine except for the hdmi. HDMI 1 will work just sometimes and HDMI 2 will not work at all. Did anyone ever come across this issue with this tv or would anyone know the best place to start?...2 Photos

Hisense 65R6107 remote sensor
Does anyone know if there is a repair for the remote sensors for these televisions? It only seems to work when it wants to. I tried a different remote and also tried factory resetting the TV. I find if i go close to the sensor that it'll work but outside 2 feet it wont.

Re: KDL-40W4100 Flickering
So anyway when the frame was on i could notice the gasket i put in behind the display when the screen was turned on so i went to move the gasket and must have tore the ribbon or something because now i cant get it back to how it was. Also there's a line going down the screen. So thats all she wrote. To the dump it goes

Re: KDL-40W4100 Flickering
Ok it is indeed the tabs. It is the one on the left. Im just not sure the best way to secure it where i need it. I dont want the tape to fall off or something after i get it all back together. Any suggestions on holding it where i want it?
Edit: So when the metal frame was put back on, that's when the picture would cut out and flicker. I needed a way to keep the tab out when i put the frame back on so i found some sill plate gasket for houses and cut a strip off it. I had to stog that behind the tab to keep it out when i pushed...Last edited by Jackching; 02-23-2023, 02:41 PM.

Re: KDL-40W4100 Flickering
Im thinking tab also. That last option with the clamp is funny lol. Ill try stripping it down a little further to access the tabs then.

Re: KDL-40W4100 Flickering
I turned off noise reduction and did the reset and still the same thing. When i lean the tv ahead or back at certain angles, it will work fine until i move it a touch either way then it will start flickering again. I went over all of the PSU another two times with a magnifying glass and it looks as good as new.

Re: KDL-40W4100 Flickering
Okay, I already had the PSU out and checked for bad solder joints but can go over it again. Any chance of it being a ribbon cable? When i touch right above the top right ribbon cable, it seems to flicker. Are there any videos on getting the bezel off this tv to access the ribbon cables? I can get the top part off but dont want to start taking everything apart without knowing what im doing....Last edited by Jackching; 02-23-2023, 09:24 AM.

Re: KDL-40W4100 Flickering
Ok I heated the 4 caps by the PSU connecter then hooked it back up. It seems to be way better then what it was. Im noticing if I move the tv around though that it seems to make it flicker some but i find it's only happening half as much after I heated them. I tested the caps with a cap tester and they all seemed to test good....Last edited by Jackching; 02-23-2023, 08:06 AM.

Re: KDL-40W4100 Flickering
Are you serious or are you wanting a picture of the boards? If you're serious, the four caps on the PSU?...Last edited by Jackching; 02-22-2023, 03:57 PM.

KDL-40W4100 Flickering
I get a black flicker on the screen regardless the input. It doesn't matter if a HDMI cord is plugged in or not, you can still see the flicker. It used to come out of it after about 20 minutes of viewing but now it seems to always stay there. Here is a video: https://www.veed.io/view/26c0999a-e393-4d99-adbd-82e2a2955abc?panel=shareI get a black flicker on the screen regardless the input. Re: Sharp LC-65N7004U LED type
My buddies tv of this model is turning off after flashing the sharp image for a second. Is that what this tv was doing? What were the symptoms to determine that it was a problem with the leds?
