Aye--Too true!

He recommended some LEDs from China I went and fell for it. They did however look identical and shone the right colour light--But lasted about 3 minutes!

Still looking for Proper LEDs at reasonable price....

Lol whoops, also just stack them you really think the Tv will last much longer after that ? Thats why I made the video

Saw this post awhile back and thought I would try the stacking method on a vizio 47" I had laying around. Tested individual leds and had four that had failed. Took some leds off a new 32" seki with broken screen and used double sided tape to secure. Will be interested to see how long it lasts before another fails. Will use TV as a backup if my Panasonic plasma breaks down. Thank you all for giving this old man the courage to give it a try.

Put baklight on low prob will last quite a while..
These tv's if they were defaulted to low they would last ages..

Asked to do a LG 42ln575v, back in November.
Came back to me this week,and on examination found
it was same strip but the LED that had failed was next to
the one that I had repaired.

This time I managed to find complete strip, so installed
see if it lasts any longer.

Looked at settings again, seen backlight
was set at 97 after I said to keep it down.
They must have thought not given remote
I could not find out the level.
Will tell them again but if the backlights go again
I shall not be repairing it.

I did my first LED swaps on a Toshiba 40" yesterday.
I replaced rather than stacked. Used hot air to remove and replace and it went well.
The trickiest bit was getting the diffusers stuck back down at the correct height.
I used a piece of cardboard to hold them at the correct height whilst the super glue gel dried.

In the states, most LG led TV's have a recommended firm/soft ware update, to install after led strip replacement, to lower backlight level. The sets default, after AC removal, to 100%.

Not true, all lgs Ive done even after Ac removal keep the Bl settings Ive not had one back. Had a few vestels back though but thats because people changed the Bl setting. But Lg you have to change the bl setting on every source as it variates between them.

Just finished BL repair on Samsung UE32EH5000K today. Done with hot air and hardly fixed with 5secondFIX glue. BL settings down to 30%. Should last longer...
