I had this tv for a year and everything worked fine. Just recently it turned off and would not turn back on. When the tv was in working condition the power light would stay on red and when turned on the red light would blind and then turn green. Now that the power will not come on the light stays red. I did some research and that led us to replace the ir sensor board. I hit the power button and the tv came on. (thought I was done) However I shut the tv off and again it would not turn back on. So questioning what I did...I took the new ir sensor out and put the old back in and again the tv turned on but when turned off would not turn on again. Any suggestions?? Thanks

From the sound of it unplugging and plugging the tv back in is the trick to get the tv running but you have to do it every time.
Have you tried performing a factory reset on the tv? Have you checked for firmware updates? Honestly it sounds like a bad main, possibly bad EEPROM. What is the part number of the board you replaced and the main board part number?
Taking pictures of the circuit board will almost always help.

Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. I have both these laptops that appeared to have the same fault so I thought I would have a go at replacing the PCH as something to learn, they both are using the same PCH.
I started on the ACER:
Up on connecting power no signs of life but current is consumed from the bench power supply and the PCH is hot.
All the caps on the top of the PCH are showing 0 ohms and the 3.3v rail is shorted.
I followed the videos from Sorin, Electronics Repair School on Youtube heating from the bottom to install. I practised on around 10 scrap... -
Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 4520 from a couple of decades ago and I want to repair it solely for nostalgia.
It happens that when I turn it on after having been disconnected for a long time, it turns on without problems, it tells me that the BIOS has been reset and that it will load the factory settings, if I tell it to continue, the computer turns on and everything works fine.

i got this laptop with no power issue....i flashed the bios and laptop can turn on and use normally....but when i shut it down and rest for few minute (2-3 minutes), it wont turn on....i have to flash bios again...any idea what is the problem?...when i shutdown and suddenly press power button to turn on, it will turn on normally....problem happen when i rest the laptop 2-3 minutes after shutdown, it will not turn on....i need to flash bios again
