    LG 42LW450U, no picture

got hold of this 42 inch LG 42LW450U 3D LED tv today, now my problem is, i have sound and i have back lights, so the tv is working apart from the picture,
touching the buttons do what there supposed to do, and the remote works as well, so im 80% sure its not the main board thats the problem, so maybe the T-CON, im getting 12v at both ends of the fuse on the T-CON,
what do you guys think, i would love someone in the UK to say, i have a t-con you can try, as i dont fancy paying out for one, and then finding out its the main board, and there not cheap.

To rule out the main board, get a oscilloscope and check the LVDS, while turning the menu on and off.

Also plug in only one side of the ribbon cable between the TCON and the panel, then the other.

ok, tryed removing ribbons from screen to t-con one at a time and got half screen picture,
the side that shows the picture is grainy, very close lines running down the screen, i have now been able to get some pics up of it,
so looks like a T-CON is needed,, would you agree ?

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                    by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

                    Hello all,
I’ve tried to repair TVs in the past with some luck. Toms repair manuals got taken down and now thats a bit harder.
I picked this TV up hoping for a quick fix. When the TV would power on, only the backlights would come on. The owner told me they heard loud screeching before it shut off. This alone makes me want to think the main board has an issue.
As I researched, I found the TCON/driver boards were an issue on this unit. I went in troubleshooting the TCON but found good voltages on the TCON. I followed shop jimmys guide to test the transistors and they seem okay....

My Oled Tv is 55inch tv, 3 days ago I notice that middle of the screen is getting warmer and on picture I have ghosting, missing red color. Color red was still displaying, but it was not so strong as corners of the screen and watching some movies makes me angry.
Then I get an idea to take it apart and clean boards from dust.
In side of Tv was not so bad, I take compressed air in can, and gently blow up.

Also I was thinking to styrofoam sponge to isolate power board from screen that the middle of the screen will not worm so much. Because Led on screen when gets higher...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
                    by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Another eazybone post took on this OLED now.

Symptoms. Hit power, white light shows briefly and then 5 blink red code. TCON issue per chart on first picture.

I'm thinking I have a power board issue though, which is one of the options

Now to check pin voltages from PSU to main and PSU to tcon

                    Pic 2

1 tcon on 12 -- 0v (when I hit power this goes to 3.1 stays for short time and back to zero)
                    2 bl err -- 0.16
                    3 evdd on --0
                    4. Ac off det 3.187
5 power on -- 3.362 BUT fluctuating randomly to 3.352
