A few days ago I was watching TV when I heard a loud POP sound! My TV shut down, everything went black. The standby light was also shut off. So I unplugged the TV took the back off, and started to check for power on the power supply board. the model number is BN96-00249A. Everything I checked on the power supply board was getting NO power whatsoever. So I unhook the power supply board and started looking around for the culprit. Then finally I found the problem it was A burned out 8 pin IC Chip. Looking at the chip I could barely read the markings on it because a piece of the chip blew off. On the IC chip it has ICE2A280. I don't know if this means anything. Also when looking at the chip it only has 7 pins! Is this normal ?? Then next to the IC chip there is a carbon film resistor. That is also burned out. I can barely make out the color bands on it. I think the color bands are ( Green, black, white, gold ). So I went on the Internet and tried to get the schematic for this particular power supply board. The only thing that came up for this resistor was 0.5 1W. After looking at various websites trying to find these two pieces, I was unsuccessful then I found this website and forum. I also went as far as finding a company on the Internet that had my Power supply board. So I ordered the power supply board , The company stated it was new. They fooled me. They did reimburse me for my money I paid but they did not give me all of it, And it was there fault. Then after they gave me my money back they told me to keep the power supply board they sent me or throw it out. Crazy stuff but it's the truth. As soon as I got the board I looked for the pieces that were damaged and burnt on my power supply board and The new board that I just purchased had the same problems as my board a burned resistor and burned out IC-Chip. Then I finally found this website which I am grateful for that it exists. So if anyone out there could help me find the right pieces so I could fix my power supply board, I will greatly appreciate it. Like I mentioned above when I plug in the TV there is no power, or No standby light, nothing,it's dead. Here's a pic of my power supply board model number BN96-00249A. Sorry about the picture. I was holding a flashlight when I took the picture and the light made it a little too bright. Lol. You can really only see one side of the IC chip. But if you look hard you can only see 7 pins. There is no 8 pins?? I am thinking this is a special kind of IC-chip. IDK. Then you can see the resistor but the color bands on it you cannot make out.

Re: I need help with my power supply board model number BN96-00249A
Thank you, I'll have to try and order it from shopJimmy. They don't have them in stock so I'm hoping he will get them in soon and the other place has them but the minimum quantity is 2000 that's way too many for my need. Lol. Do you know how I could figure out what resister I may need or should I just look for one that's 0.5 1W ??Comment

Re: I need help with my power supply board model number BN96-00249A
Thank you very much. Yea I looked at the diagram but I'm not that good yet at reading schematics. I don't even know how you knew it was flameproof. I got the 0.5 1W. But I didn't know where exactly to look or how to find out what kind of resister it is. So I really appreciate your help thank you. I'm a newbie at this. Lol. I did a lot of research on color codes for resistors but I couldn't tell because how burnt up it was. I guess I should learn more about how to read schematics and diagrams and what all the symbols mean. Lol. Thanks for taking the time to help me.Comment

Sorry to bother you again. Do you know where I could find A 0.5 ohm 1W Metal oxide flameproof resister ?? I looked on SJ and a few more places to no availComment

Re: I need help with my power supply board model number BN96-00249A
The close's resistor I found was a 10 ohm 1W metal film resistor. I looked everywhere. I don't know what I could use as a replacement for this type of resistor.Comment

Re: I need help with my power supply board model number BN96-00249A
Hey, I had a question. Instead of using a .05ohms 1W resistor. Whould I burn the board out or what would happen if I used a 10 ohm 1W resistor. I know that's s big difference but what would happen?? I tried looking this question up but found no answers. ThanksComment

Re: I need help with my power supply board model number BN96-00249A
The circuit will not function properly and will think it has over current condition. That resistor is the current sensor/Source resistor.
BTW, it is 0.5 Ohms NOT 0.05 OhmsNever stop learning

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by SoulzinkHi everyone,
I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.
The power supply board reference is the following: DC41-00189a
I have followed one thread (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ingmachine-rel... -
by sam_sam_samI did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

by sam_sam_samI was working on this CNC machine today found no keyboard functioning no control relay powering on
The screen powered on and was giving an operation error but the manual was not very clear about what the error exactly was but with a little bit of troubleshooting and finding out that the control relays not powering on and no keyboard functions we narrowed down to this one switching power supply which of course does not have any indicator LED light they are on the keyboard interface/relay controller board
Found shorted diodes on main controller relays there are 3 of them that... -
by sam_sam_samI have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails
I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time... - Loading...
