    Sanyo DP50747 No 5vdc LJ44-00132A

Set is dead. FS 181 a 250v 8 amp fuse. Set played fine a few minuets the turned off when the 5vdc dropped out, thus killing the 5vdc that energizes the relays the feed 120vac to rest of the P.S. FS 181 fuse is still good it did not blow it. I found no shorts in the primary side.
Removed power supply to bench. No 5vdc Stby on pins 1 or2. I place a jumper from CN8002 pin 1 to pin 7, of course with no 5vdc the PS is dead. I got two TV case history books that show symptoms and cures but the capacitor numbers don't match the parts in the downloaded manual!
Does anyone have a schematic for LJ44-00132A ? IC U974 KA393A only has 5.2vdc on pin no 8. nothing on the other pins. IC U661 KA3883 has no voltage on any pins. the caps C670 and C961 are 10uf 50vdc elec caps. show about 1.4 ohms in circuit. My new Panasonic 10uf 50v caps read 2 ohms on the
Cap Wizard when out of circuit? Caps or the IC chips?
    Thanks

So you are saying that your STBY voltage is gone and thus the TV died? What about the other fuse on the PSU (there are 2)
Did you check the STBY voltage to GND pin on both boards, maybe there is a short? You are correct, if you don't have 5V STBY, than nothing is going to happen on that PSU. It will not turn on.

The set was playing, had the 5vdc, 207vdc etc. Then it shut down and all power was lost including the 5vdc standby. The relays that give 120 vac to the primary of the P.S. are marked 5vdc.

Both fuses are good. I measured several kohms on the 5vdc to chasing gnd.

When you plug in your board, do you get 170V on the filter cap?

I get 380 vdc on main filter cap when the set works as does the 207 vdc on VS. When the 5vdc dies so does the set. I get 0vdc on main filter cap at that time because it kills the 120 vac to the primary of the P.S. The two relays are 5vdc.

                  "I place a jumper from CN8002 pin 1 to pin 7"
I look at the board, the pin 1 for 5V is labeled as 5VD, that is a switched 5V.
The standby '5Vsb' is at CN8003. So check and see if you do have 5Vsb at that pin.
Too bad shopjimmy picture of the bottom side of the board has a big white sticker on it so I cannot see the traces to verify the connections.

                    by MagicSmoke
Working on an old Sanyo 50" that has Samsung innards. Backstory.. saved from dumpster years ago, partial recap on SMPS, Replaced one of two small caps on X-main, set worked great for about 3 years.

Then recently it started to take a few minutes from power on to display a pic and sound, worked like that for about 3 months, then Smps would click once and then nothing, it will not shut itself off but nothing happens.

So pulled PS replaced all the caps, even the large mains. PS works and has all stable rated voltages present when switched on. TV has sound (static) when...

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
                    by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

                    Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
                    by toddw65
                    Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

                    Thanks,...

This tv once turned on , makes a 1 click then another click comes on for 6 to 10 seconds shows image and sounds then shuts off. Then clicks again and shuts of in 3 sec with no image or sounds. Keeps doing this. I Did the self test with the logic board and the main board unhooked. It shows all the colors and pattern test fine. Never shuts off. So i order a main board.

Second main board installed and it did same thing. Made one click then few seconds another click. Tv comes on with sound and video then shuts down and does the 3 sec click on and off thing.

                    I'm guessing...

                    Sanyo VHR-D4710G VCR no sound.
                    by hugocarmo
                    Hi again guys.
Today I have a problem with this Sanyo VCR.
I bought it online, It worked sometimes.
I recap the Power supply and it started working fine.
Image is perfect and all digital effects too.
All of a sudden it stopped outputting sound. I checked for dried solders an all boards and soldered when needed, no fix.
I have no sound on playback, on tuner, or aux in.
On symptom I noticed is when it was working fine, the HI-FI led was on when I power up the VCR, now is OFF, A-B leds are on but when I put a tape they go off.
On one of the sound processing...
