    Panasonic tx-p50ut50b

Hi guys I've got the above to and it wouldn't turn on this morning

Anyway I've taken the rear of the to off and had a look inside I pulled the SS board and I think the problem lies there as it looks like it's got too hot on connector ss52 will attach a pic here it also looks like there is damage to RO51 and the ic's nearby

I'm not sure of the blink sequence yet but will confirm that later

Anyway I can get the board at a reasonable price my question is would any of the others gone as well ?

    Thanks

Common failure is SS, 8 blink. Do a bit of a search, there's also a repair bulletin for that board. keep the old board as a core for repair.

        Thanks for the reply tw2005

I thought that was the culprit is it easy to fix ? As I can't seem to find the board available now ? I've seen the repair kit which I'm assuming contains the parts to solve the issue

        Thanks

I've done some testing with the SS board unplugged the one in question the to fires up and there is a dim image and sound from the tv so it's deffo the SS board now fixing it is the fun part

And another question I've got the tnpa5622 which is for the 42" model of this tv can I remove the needed parts from this board and use them on the tnpa5623 ? As in would they be the same parts ?

Thanks for any help guys it's the only way at the moment I can source the parts as for some reason I can't access shopjimmy.com

maybe. would need to first work out the burnt bits plus replacing the driver IC is probably advisable. You ave both boards so look at the part numbers on the relevant parts. i'd expect they'll be the same.

Someone may be able to swap the bits but they probably won't be able to guarantee it's fixed.

did you notice the burn marks at the earth points on the underside? loose screws? something to pay attention too on reassembly, clean those up and make sure the screws are tight or use a different bolt with a spring and flat washer which is what they used in earlier models. These new screws can be an issue.

Hi Just seen your post,8 blink code with this set is common ,and is almost always the SS TNPA 5623. The board will show Q051 shorted, and can also take its gate resistor / diode/ driver IC .all parts are easy to find on there own or in kits . hope this is of some help Flocko

Thanks to all for the reply and yes there is what looks like burn marks at the top of the board where it mounts to the Tv chassis on the top and the second screw hole down in the old board

The parts are the same as no parts that are bad have the same numbers including the driver ic

Thanks for the url vinceroger69 will see if i can get the kit from them to be on the safe side that this other board the tnpa5622 doesn't let go of its driver ic

Well guys this is now sorted I sourced a referbed board from emos and so far all is good they even threw in the new screws that Panasonic replaced

Still got the old board so will try and source the parts then get that one repaired also

sounds good, can you tell what parts they replaced? new screws is a good choice. I replaced all mine on my 2011 st30 which has the same arcing issue and loose screws.

                                how expensive was the board?

I'm not sure what parts was replaced they just stated it was a referbished board that had been fully tested and has a 3 month warranty

And it cost me £50 including shipping so I thought that was ok if I can get the other board repaired it will be a back up board in case this one dies

But the screws it came with have washers on them so that must be why they are different

Any ideas what this is caused by ??

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                                          After all of...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                                          by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
